Competitive Grant Completion in the CCIP: Principal Preparation Innovation Grant This guidance document has been prepared to help applicants complete the competitive grant application for the Principal Preparation Innovation Grant in the Comprehensive Continuous Improvement Plan (CCIP). Applicants applying for this grant opportunity must have a SAFE account and have proper roles in OEDS. Applications are due in the CCIP on December 22, 2017 by 12 p.m. EST (noon). OEDS ROLES 1. The OEDS Administrator for your institution can assign required roles. Required roles may be assigned to more than one person at a time. The same person may have multiple roles. CCIP Authorized Representative is the lead person with ultimate responsibility in an organization. This person gives final approval to the original grant application, budget revision requests and the Final Expenditure Report. 3. CCIP Fiscal Representative is the person in an organization who has ultimate fiscal responsibility for fiscal matters. This person gives approval to the original grant application, budget revision requests, Project Cash Requests and the Final Expenditure Report. 4. Optional Roles can be assigned to multiple people. a. Data View Funding CCIP This person can only look at the grant application data. b. Data Entry Funding CCIP This person can enter the application data. Once appropriate roles are set up in OEDS, move to the CCIP system through SAFE and complete the following set of directions to submit the grant application. CCIP DIRECTIONS The following are basic instructions to apply through the CCIP application system. The screen captures below were for a different grant, however the steps are universal. Please make sure you are looking for the grant titled Principal Preparation Innovation as you work on this application. 1. Login to your SAFE account here. On the SAFE Menu page, click the CCIP link. On the CCIP Menu to the left, highlight Funding and click Funding Applications. 2. From there, click on the Principal Preparation Innovation (a sample grant is highlighted in yellow below). Be sure the fiscal year is set to 2018. Click on that link for the grant you are applying for to go to the section page. Page 2 of 5
3. At the top of the Sections page, change the status to Draft Started to put budget and upload documents. Then click the Budget link. Page 3 of 5
4. Enter a budget on the Budget page. The budget must be greater than zero to move on. Click Save and Go To the Next page. 5. Next Upload the necessary documents. Click on the Browse button to select the file and then click on the Upload button to add them to the application. When you are done uploading documents, click Go To Sections Page 4 of 5
6. Click on the Contacts and provide funding application contact from the drop down. Click Go To Sections to change the status. 7. Once you have added the contact, you must change the Application Status at the top of the Sections page, first, to Draft Completed. The CCIP Fiscal Representative must nest change the status to Fiscal Representative Approved. And finally, the CCIP Authorized Representative needs to change the application to Authorized Representative Approved. The application is submitted to the ODE when it is in Authorized Representative Approved status. Note, if you are assigned to the CCIP Fiscal Representative and CCIP Authorized Representative roles, you can change the status one after the other.
