Career Community Counseling Immigration Senior Volunteer Services That Matter

Career Services Career Center Women s Center Career and Women s Centers offer comprehensive career services to assist the unemployed, underemployed, career changers, women in transition, new Americans and early retirees in entering or reentering the workforce. Career Center services offer career evaluation and assessment, career planning, resume writing, job search assistance and interview preparation. Career Center s computer and media labs feature high-tech equipment mixed with a comfortable environment for a great learning experience. Services include computer classes, open lab times and equipment needed to assist in job search. Women s Center serves women in transition as a result of separation, divorce, death or disability of a spouse or partner. Free services include educational counseling, career planning and assessment, job readiness/job search training, life skills workshops, financial management and more.

Community Services JFS provides community services to individuals, organizations and businesses. JFS provides an array of services and supports without regard to race, ethnic origin, age, gender, sexual orientation or religious preference with a long tradition of serving the community. Intake and Referral Desk provides information and referral to JFS and other community services. Kosher Food Pantries located in Milltown and Monroe Township. Food made available to all individuals in need regardless of religious affiliation. Passover Food Packages distributed. Holiday Gifts distributed. Senior Medicare Patrol (SMP) of New Jersey educates Medicare and Medicaid beneficiaries about preventing, detecting and reporting health care fraud. SMP of NJ is part of the national SMP network funded by the US Administration on Aging. JRecovery is a self-help group for individuals and family members impacted by addiction. JFS On The Road provides professionals to address topics important to individuals and families at different points in the life cycle.

Counseling Services Individual & Family Counseling Bereavement Groups Adoption Services JFS professional staff of licensed clinicians provides counseling services to children, adolescents, adults and senior adults. Services include psychosocial assessments; individual, couple and family counseling; and support groups. In-home counseling is available to homebound senior adults. JFS accepts Medicare and Medicaid and maintains contracts with many behavioral health insurance plans. JFS is licensed by the State of NJ Department of Children and Families to provide adoption services. Services include adoption counseling and education, home studies for domestic adoptions and post-placement services. Evening hours available.

Immigration Services Citizenship Classes Immigration Application Assistance Refugee Services Legal Representation and Advocacy JFS provides immigration services to assist immigrants and refugees from all over the world. JFS is certified by the US Department of Justice to represent and advocate on behalf of immigrants in matters brought before US Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). Assistance in completing immigrant applications including naturalization and adjustment of status. Legal advocacy provided to resolve immigration issues. Assistance completing consular forms. Citizenship-focused English as a Second Language (ESL) Classes. Assistance to access social services benefits. Immigration/citizenship information workshops. Representation at citizenship and green card interviews. Refugee employment services. Se Habla Español

Senior Services Kosher Meals on Wheels Geriatric Care Management Senior Activity Programs Holocaust Survivor Services JFS provides many services to senior adults and their families. All services aim to maintain the independence, dignity and self-worth of the senior adult, while offering the family support and respite. Kosher Meals on Wheels delivered by volunteers. Geriatric Assessments and Care Management. Holocaust Survivor Services. Senior Adult Activity/Lunch Programs. Senior Adult Social Daycare for individuals with cognitive impairments and medical problems. Socialization Clubs include Women s Club, Men s Club, Widows and Widowers Club, Yiddish Club, Canasta Club and more. Friendly Visitors. Transportation available for Senior Adult Lunch Programs, Senior Adult Social Daycare and Senior Socialization Programs.

Volunteer Services Volunteers play a vital role in JFS by creating a positive and enriching experience for both clients and volunteers. Volunteers are an integral part of the JFS team. Dedicated individuals contribute their unique talents, skills and knowledge to impact the community. JFS volunteer opportunities include: deliver a hot meal to a homebound person; visit a lonely senior adult; tutor a new American in English; stock the Kosher Food Pantry; lend a hand at a senior adult socialization club; help prevent Medicare fraud, waste and abuse; transport a participant to a JFS program and offer your expertise to JFS. Retired Senior Volunteer Program Middlesex (RSVP Middlesex) connects volunteers with volunteer opportunities in Middlesex County social service, religious, health and community organizations. RSVP Middlesex is part of the national RSVP network of volunteer opportunities for senior adults.
