Voiture 813, 40 & 8 To assist students who plan to attend college for the purpose of becoming a registered nurse. Recipient must be a graduate of a high school in Dubois County and must be admitted to a nursing program. Dependents of members will be given first consideration; others will also be considered; all must show evidence of being admitted to a nursing program. At the present time - one, two, or three awards of $400 per year per student. Awards are renewable for a total of up to, but not to exceed 4 years of continuous education. Honors Day After enrollment, a letter from the Dean of Nursing is required for each semester. Recipient will receive $200 each semester. In recognition of the important contributions made by agriculture, engineers, mathematicians, physicists, and chemists to the American manufacturing community. Farbest Foods Inc. is proud to offer scholarships to individuals in Dubois County who are interested in the pursuit of careers in these areas. The applicant must meet the following requirements: - Be a citizen of the United States at the time of application. - Be a high school senior - Have at least a 3.5 grade point average (based on 4.0 scale) for the tenth and eleventh grades. Your GPA will be computed by the transcript submitted with the application. To qualify for these scholarships, the applicant need only to enroll in a university of the applicant's choice and pursue a specific program of agriculture, engineering, mathematics, physics, or chemistry. Judging for these scholarships will be conducted according to procedures established by the donor. The criteria will be solely academic promise. The value of each scholarship will be $2000 which is $500 per year for each year the student pursues the specific programs outlined above with a maximum of four years per student. The award will be presented by a check written jointly to the student and the college. The student must maintain a 3.0 GPA or higher to receive continued funding. OPTIMIST CLUB OF JASPER SCHOLARSHIP Sponsoring Group - Optimist Club of Jasper To recognize a graduating senior for being involved in civic and extracurricular activities by assisting with the cost of a postsecondary education. Applicants must be graduating seniors at either NORTHEAST DUBOIS HIGH SCHOOL or JASPER HIGH SCHOOL. Recipients are chosen by a committee whose decision is based on the student's involvement. Some degree of financial need must be demonstrated. Applicants must have a 2.5 GPA or above; show involvement in school, civic, community activities; demonstrate some degree of financial need. All seniors who participated in the Junior Optimist Club at middle school level are encouraged to apply. This involvement should be noted on the Student Profile page. CLAUDE AND ALMA LINE SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM Sponsoring Group Old National Trust Company Scholarships are available to students planning to study medical careers and for students who are planning to further their education for other careers, including vocational-technical areas. Amount of award The amount may vary each year and could be affected by the number of students applying from each local parish. Procedures for applying All parts and all attachments of the Dubois County Common Scholarship Application should be completed for the Claude Line Scholarship. Your essay for the third attachment should include why you think you deserve this scholarship. In addition to this, applicants must also include a reference letter from their church stating their affiliation/membership with that church/parish. Also, applicants are required to complete and file FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) and submit a copy of their Student Aid Report (SAR) with their application. The SAR is the form received after filing the (FAFSA). It is about a 3-4 page report which assigns you an EFC # (Estimated Family Contribution). Preference will be given to families who do not qualify for state or federal aid. Submit Application
Students should hand in completed applications to their guidance counselors before April 1. During a selection meeting in early May, merit & character of applicants will be discussed. GOOD SHEPARD OF THE HILLS KNIGHT OF COLUMBUS COUNCIL # 13623 SCHOLARSHIP To assist students who wish to further their education Applicants must be a member or a dependent child/grandchild of a member in good standing with the Knights of Columbus Council # 13623. A selection committee will review a number of criteria including but not limited to academic achievement, leadership and involvement in extra-curricular activities, community service, and financial need.
