201 5 Winter Conference February 4 th -6 th Hilton Cocoa Beach Oceanfront 1550 North Atlantic Ave. Cocoa Beach, Florida 32931 (321) 779-0003

SCOTT ELLIS Clerk of the Circuit Court Brevard County, Florida Welcome each of you. I know you will all have a wonderful adventure at the FCCC 2015 Winter Conference right here in Brevard County. Brevard is home to the Kennedy Space Center and Cape Canaveral Air Force Station, where the United States launched its first rockets, manned missions, and now where private industry continues the nation s rich tradition of space exploration. This is why we are called Florida s Space Coast. The county s area code became 321 in 1999 as homage to the countdown sequence used to launch space vehicles: 3...2...1... Blast off! Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge surrounds the Space Center and is home to 140,000 acres of coastal dunes, freshwater and saltwater habitats, scrub land, forest, and more than 1,500 species of plants and animals. In 1953, a special act of the Florida Legislature created the Canaveral Port Authority, an independent government agency that operates Port Canaveral. Businesses operating there have generated more than 13,000 jobs and $1.1 billion in revenue. Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Disney all have cruise ships based at Port Canaveral, while many fine restaurants front the deep water basin. We have our beaches, kayaking, fishing, the Enchanted Forest, tours of the Kennedy Space Center, and the Brevard Zoo. Downtown Melbourne and Cocoa Village offer a large variety of small specialty shops and dining, while Cocoa Beach retailers provide a wide range of beach offerings. Thank you for dropping in on our home. Regards, Scott Ellis Clerk of Court Brevard County, Florida
