National Trust Preservation Funds Over $1 million available nationwide with $25,000 available annually to projects in California Awards typically range from $2,500 to $5,000 Require a 1:1 cash match Awarded to nonprofits and government agencies Three deadlines: February 1, June 1, October 1 Fund the planning phases of preservation projects and educational activities Focus on the National Trust s Preservation Priorities

Focus on Preservation Priorities 1. Building sustainable communities: demonstrate that historic preservation supports economic, environmental and cultural sustainability in communities 2. Reimagining historic sites: use innovative, replicable strategies that create new models for historic site interpretation and stewardship 3. Promoting diversity and place: broaden the cultural diversity of historic preservation 4. Protecting historic places on public lands: involves a historic or archaeological site on BLM, Forest Service or National Park Service lands. 7
