REASONS TO JOIN THE CHAMBER ADVOCACY The Chamber President, Board Leadership and Legislative Committee lobby on behalf of business and industry on all levels of government local, state and federal to keep central Louisiana business friendly. The Infrastructure Committee works with local and parish governing authorities and private enterprise to advocate for projects for the region that support economic development. EVENTS & SPONSORSHIP OPPORTUNITIES ANNUAL EVENTS The Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce hosts a wide variety of annual events that help benefit its membership and the central Louisiana community. Each event is unique and offers different sponsorship levels for businesses and organizations to take an active role in steering the direction of the event s agenda, initiatives and goals. Central Louisiana Day at the Legislature Chamber of Commerce Day at the Legislature provides members an opportunity to hear from their Governor and state legislators and weigh in on vital issues at the State Capitol. Following a full day of legislative briefings and events, the Chamber hosts a legislative reception in downtown Baton Rouge where the entire legislature is invited to attend. Business Awards Average Attendance: 350 The Business Awards provide local businesses the opportunity to celebrate and be recognized for their achievements. The awards shine the spotlight and honor excellence in business here in central Louisiana. The gala is complete with a red carpet, formal dinner, awards ceremony and champagne winners circle. Business Expo The Central LA Chamber Business Expo is the largest business to business trade show and networking event for businesses and industries in the region. The Business Expo is the only one day event of its kind in the area that provides small & mid-sized companies with unparalleled opportunities to grow their businesses. Business owners and executives from industries both small and large enjoy face-to-face networking and high-level business education aimed at growing your bottom line. Women in Business Conference Average Attendance: 200 The Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce Women in Business Conference is a half-day conference featuring three breakout sessions with seminar topics ranging from starting a business, resources for small businesses, financial planning, healthcare and running for public office. The conference provides an excellent opportunity for central Louisiana women to network, learn and empower one another. Annual Meeting Average Attendance: 350 The Annual Meeting and Luncheon celebrates the year-ending accomplishments of the Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce. This event is a luncheon held during the first week of December and features a prominent keynote speaker. MONTHLY EVENTS Strategic Luncheons Average Attendance: 75-100 Strategic Luncheons are informational networking events featuring dynamic speakers on topics of importance to your business. New members are introduced at the events, which are held at various locations throughout the Chamber service area. Business After Ours & Morning Coffees Average Attendance: 50-75 Casual and friendly networking opportunities hosted by different Chamber members held after or before the business day. These get-togethers are a wonderful resource for making contact with both current and prospective clients.

COMMITTEE PREFERENCE FORM The Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce accomplishes its annual Plan of Work through six divisions composed of multiple committees. The Chamber invites you to become involved in one or more committees working to enhance the local business community. Listed below are the divisions and committees from which to choose. Conducts surveys to assess the technical and certificate program needs of area businesses. Reports information gathered to secondary and post-secondary institutions. GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS DIVISION Legislative Committee: Meets regularly during state Legislative Session to review bills affecting business and industry and recommends positions of support or opposition when appropriate. Plans and hosts meeting with elected officials on state and federal levels to discuss legislative priorities. Helps to plan and host Central Louisiana Day at the Legislature. Infrastructure Committee: Meets regularly throughout the year to discuss infrastructure needs and develops an annual list of priorities to support economic growth in the region. Assists in communicating infrastructure priorities to local, state, and federal officials. MILITARY AFFAIRS DIVISION Military Affairs Committee: Maintains relationships and supports Louisiana's military installations, soldiers and families through a variety of initiatives and events. Supports JRTC/Fort Polk, Camp Beauregard and National Guard, V.A. Medical Center, Coast Guard Station at Colfax and USS ALEXANDRIA. (Additional fee to participate - $150) QUALITY OF LIFE DIVISION Public Safety Committee: New Committee will work to develop programming aimed at helping members keep their business safe from crime. Young Professionals Group of Central Louisiana (YPG): Provides business professionals ages 21-45 an opportunity to engage in professional development, networking and economic development. The YPG provides participants an opportunity to address community issues and be a voice for their demographic. (Additional fee to participate - $50) MEMBERSHIP DIVISION Membership Committee: (By invitation of the Membership Chairman.) Works together with Chamber staff to recruit new members and evaluate member needs. Must be willing to get at least 10 new members. Helps develop Strategic Luncheons and other programs. Red Coat Ambassadors: Hosts Ribbon Cuttings, After Ours Receptions, Morning Coffees and other networking events. SPECIAL COMMITTEES: Small Business & Retail Committee: New Chamber committee will work to develop Chamber programming and resources to enhance small business and retail sectors. MILITARY DISCOUNT SIGN UP FORM The Chamber's Military Affairs Committee works with Fort Polk and the Louisiana National Guard to encourage businesses to offer discounts to military families. These discounts help to make Alexandria/Pineville an attractive place for military families to shop, dine and enjoy cultural activities. CENTRAL LOUISIANA CHAMBER DAY AT THE LEGISLATURE May 10, 2017 Central LA Chamber of Commerce Day at the Legislature provides members an opportunity to hear from their Governor and state legislators and weigh in on vital issues at the State Capitol. In 2016, attendees were briefed by Governor John Bell Edwards and recognized on both the House and Senate Floors. Following a full day of legislative briefings and events, the Chamber hosts a legislative reception in downtown Baton Rouge where the entire legislature is invited to attend. Sponsored or hosted by a Chamber member, these events take place typically between 7:30 and 9:30 in the morning at the sponsor s business. The host provides coffee & refreshments and/or entertainment. The Chamber designs and mails out invitations to its entire membership, local media and advertises the event through social media. STRATEGIC LUNCHEONS The Central Louisiana Chamber hosts Strategic Luncheons once a month featuring timely and informative presentations provided by a variety of guest speakers. In addition to the main speaker, three chamber members are chosen to provide an "elevator speech" about their businesses to facilitate member to member connections. Average Attendance: 75-120 Presenting Sponsor: Members can sponsor a luncheon and be the presenter to those in attendance. Presenting sponsors are able to pick the topic of discussion and guide the luncheon s agenda (with approval of the Chamber President). The Gold sponsor receives prominent placement at the luncheon, is recognized on signage and verbally by the Chamber President. Multiple businesses and organizations are allowed to sponsor the event. WORKSHOPS, ROUNDTABLES & FORUMS Central Louisiana Chamber of Commerce hosts a Legislative Forum, June 17, 2015 The Central LA Chamber hosts a variety of free workshops throughout the year for its members on a variety of topics, such as implementing the new provisions of the Affordable Healthcare Act, upcoming tax changes for business, maximizing social media to impact the bottom line and much more. The Chamber hosts events, meetings and roundtable discussions with members of Congress, state legislators, and local elected officials on a variety of topics. During election season, the Chamber typically hosts forums featuring all candidates for a particular office. This fall, the Chamber will host a Gubernatorial Forum featuring the four candidates.
