Summer/Fall 2017 Dear Coaches, Hope all of you have had a great summer and are refreshed and ready to have an awesome fall season. First, I want to let you know that our NEW website (still OTCA.us) is fast approaching and we hope to have it up and modernized for all of you to use on a regular basis real soon. This has been a much bigger project than we initially anticipated but your patience will hopefully be rewarded. One of the biggest things that I have heard is that the communication needs to improve, and I could not agree more. Hopefully you will find the website as a way to have things available to access much more frequently and a lot easier. Please let us now if you are interested in getting involved in some way on the OTCA board or on one of our committees. We always love to have new faces and energy and would welcome anyone who has a passion for High School tennis. Hopefully, at this point you have updated all of your certifications for the fall season. There is a new cardiac arrest certification that you must have this year if you have not done so you can find it online at https://nfhslearn.com/. The team tournament draws should already be in your hands by the time you receive this but if not you can access them always on our website. It is pertinent that everyone follows the dates on the draws and stays on schedule with their matches. If you back up a portion of the draw it only inconveniences all of the teams that advance and makes their final matches very congested around sectionals since we all play on different days in different divisions. Good-luck to all of you this fall season, and thanks as always for representing the OTCA with good sportsmanship & ethics. Greg Aten, OTCA president THE OFFICIAL PUBLICATION OF THE OHIO TENNIS COACHES ASSOCIATION Volume 53, Number 1 Summer /Fall 2017
