In 2013, RAW Impact was founded to bring together a movement of people who would get hands-on in the fight against some of the greatest injustices in the world today. WHEN WHO WHERE WHAT WHEN 7-19 January 2016 WHO Year 12 students from St Stephen s School WHERE We begin our trip in Phnom Penh where we will work on Gunty s Island a village across the Mekong river in Phnom Penh, then travel to Ko Ki village and finish the trip exploring Siem Reap. WHAT Hands-on rural village development through building, education and agricultural projects. Visiting the S21 Genocide Museum and Killing Fields in Phnom Penh, and exploring the famous Angkor Wat Temples in Siem Reap. COST $2800 - Includes airfares, accommodation, meals, travel insurance, visas. Does not include project fundraising amount. See page 7 ABOUT CAMBODIA COUNTRY INFO Climate: Year-round tropical climate. Minimum 16ºC (Dec-Jan). WHAT TO LOOK FORWARD TO Your personal Cambodian Trip Itinerary DAY LOCATION DAY 1-5 7-11 January PHNOM PENH We ll kick start the trip in Phnom Penh and hit the tools with two days at Gunty s Island. A rest day will follow with cultural orientation, checking out local tourist sites in Phnom Penh as well as a visit to the RAW Impact office. There will be one more day at Gunty s to finish off the building there as well as a village sleep-out to get the full experience! DAY 6-10 12-16 January KRATIE PROVINCE The team will travel to Ko Ki Village where we ll commence four days of work on a building project. We ll also go for a paddle through a floating forest and hopefully see some river dolphins. DAY 11-13 17-19 January SIEM REAP Our trip comes to an end with some rest and relaxation in Siem Reap. We ll spend a day checking out Angkor Wat before we start the journey home. NEXT STEPS NEXT STEPS SIGN UP your next steps to follow before you touchdown in Cambodia Complete an expression of interest form at the St Stephen s Global Change the World Cambodia blog site. St Stephen s School will undertake a selection process to determine the final group who will then be notified. Once selected, complete your RAW Impact Registration and Trip Agreement which will be sent via email. trip docs PAY MENT Trip Deposit covers flights, visas and travel insurance and is to be paid to St Stephen s School upon selection. (non-refundable and not tax-deductible). Trip Costs cover accommodation, meals and drinks, transport, translators, entry fees, and your own team shirt. These are not tax-deductible. Please take note of the due dates (see pg 7). Everyday Hero is an online fundraising platform where you are able to create your own fundraising page and personally invite your friends, family and everyone you know to support you in your cause. A dummies guide to everyday hero 1. SIGN UP Hit the button that looks like this on the Registration email you received from RAW Impact. This will take you to the sign-up page for your team and your team only. You must sign-up on this page! Your individual fundraising page is used by you, as well as us at RAW to track how you re going. You also contribute to the larger pool - your team! This is a group effort! The next step is simple. You can choose to sign up using an Email or your Facebook account - whatever suits you best. Enter in a few details and hit Congratulations! You have successfully created an account! Now it s time to Create your own Supporter Page What is a Supporter Page? An online page that you can use to spread the word, inspire support and raise money for a cause you care about. - Everyday Hero Payment Details Next, fill out some information RAW about Impact your (Australia) page: Page Name will be the page link ANZ - enter Bank your Australia first or full name. Preferred Name is your display name BSB: (your 015 first 891 name is generally best). Birthday and Address and hit Create Supporter Page! Account: 2859 43829 3. MAKE IT PERSONAL 2. PAGE SET UP Woohoo! Your Everyday Hero page has been created! Now it s time to make your page more personal. Hit the Edit this Supporter Page button. Goal - Set this as $2000. It can be updated later if needed. We believe in your ability to go above and beyond! Finally, check off the 4 SMALL ACTIONS on your page: Upload a profile picture of yourself - own this page! Add a personal story or message about what you are doing and why. Everyday Hero has provided an example but certainly feel free to edit it. Post updates and photos on your page, keep your supporters in the loop. Share your page s link on Facebook, email it out - invite support! We find a personal message to your family, friends and colleagues encourages much greater support. We believe in keeping it personal and real. * Don t forget to thank your generous donors!
