Purpose of Funding When to Apply What Events will be Funded Dublin City Council wishes to encourage and support a diverse range of high quality, innovative and ambitious events that engage local residents and visitors alike. The overall objective of the Events Section is to support and facilitate an annual programme of public events that deliver social, cultural, tourism and economic benefits for the City. Events that utilise Dublin City Council controlled public spaces and City parks contribute to the vibrancy of the City and going forward the events programme will be structured to ensure an even spread of events across all of these spaces. Completed applications for events taking place in Dublin City Council s geographical area during 2018 must be submitted by 12 noon on Friday, 23rd February 2018. 1. Events that contribute to Dublin City s liveability and well-being and make it a better place to live 2. Events that enhance the profile and appeal of Dublin City 3. Events that promote and showcase Dublin City as a modern and creative City, with a rich heritage 4. Events that generate economic and tourism benefits for Dublin City What Events will Not be Deemed Eligible for Funding 1. Events run by organisations that have outstanding debts to Dublin City Council, or have not previously acquitted a grant or sponsorship to the satisfaction of Dublin City Council 2. The event is a fundraiser and/or charity event. Fund raisers and/ or charity events may only be eligible for in-kind support. 3. Events that are primarily expos, conferences, business events, civic events or touring shows 4. Events that are sporting, cultural, arts, education, special interest or other gatherings that take place on a regular basis, such as monthly or weekly 5. Events run by political organisations, or have a political purpose 6. Events run by organisations that have not previously complied with permit or other conditions of Dublin City Council, or have failed to apply for required permits 7. Priorities of the Events Section 1. The delivery of a planned and diverse annual programme of events and festivals, that allows residents, businesses, the wider community and visitors to participate and benefit from throughout the year 2. The use of funding criteria through which all events that are resourced wholly, or in part, by Dublin City Council can be fairly and objectively assessed 3. The delivery of an even spread of events across all suitable Dublin City Council outdoor spaces, including Smithfield Square, Meeting House Square, Public Parks, etc. Assessment and Funding Decisions Applications for funding will be assessed purely on the information provided and in line with the priorities, objectives and criteria of Dublin City Council s Events Section, as set down in this document For successful applications, the level of funding offered will be determined by the Events Section, based on overall available funds and to ensure that the overall objectives are met Offers of funding will be dependent on a signed agreement with all funding terms and conditions Notes on Completing this Application Form Please be as accurate as possible with your budget and finances. If your funding application is approved we may ask for evidence of invoices to back up your submission. If you have run the event previously please attach any press reports, feedback or evaluation reports that have been written after the event took place Please ensure that all questions are answered as it may not be possible to request further information from applicants if insufficient detail is provided If you have any other funding sources pending or secured please include details.
