CareerLink Overview CareerLink is an online registration and job posting system exclusively available to the NSU community. This system allows students and alumni to upload resumes and cover letters for employer viewing, conduct job searches, receive job alerts via email, view and RSVP for career events and request to interview with companies conducting on-campus interviews. Employers post internships, part-time and full-time employment opportunities. The system allows online access 24/7. 3

Students Current Students Visit www.hirensugrads.com Select CareerLink Icon > CareerLink Login > Student Login Enter your NSU assigned username and password to access your account NSU Career Services encourages accounts to be kept current and up-to-date. Complete Profile Review all sections to update as needed Note: Require fields are marked with red asterisk * Click Save > Continue > Submit Profile Connect on Facebook or LinkedIn Update your profile Login to access your CareerLink account Put your cursor over My Account and select My Profile Sections include personal information, demographics, skills and additional information Click the Edit link to edit fields within the sections Carefully review each section and complete all fields Your account is defaulted to YES to allow employer viewing Switch to NO if you do not wish employer viewing Note: The more details provided, the better Career Services will be able to assist you. 4

Students Upload your resume, cover letter or transcript Put your cursor over My Account and select My Documents Scroll to the Resumes section and click Add Click Browse to find your document Select the document and name it (i.e. 2017 Resume) Click the Save button Make sure your most recent resume is set as your default resume Search for Employers Click Employers on the gray menu bar Follow the prompt on the top of the screen under Employer Search Set your criteria through Advanced Search View an employer by clicking on their name, which will be a green link If a positive number appears in the Openings section, click the number to open the opportunity profile(s) for active listings. If the number is zero, you can still pursue other opportunities by visiting the organization/employer s website. Searching for jobs, internships and co-ops Put your cursor over Jobs and select Job Search Click Advanced Search to complete search criteria (example: by major) to narrow down your search OR Click Search (without entering any search criteria) to view all current jobs Click on Job ID to see the specifics of the position and how to apply 5

Students Saving jobs and receiving email alerts You can save your search and choose to be emailed about new jobs by clicking Save Search or Email Me New Jobs to set up a job alert Save jobs by clicking Add to Favorites in the job profile or by clicking the green star icon next to the record in the search results Click My Favorites in the left navigation bar shows your favorite jobs A yellow star will be displayed next to jobs you have saved A green star will appear next to jobs you have saved and submitted your resume to Email job alerts will send you an email when any new jobs matching your search criteria are available Access existing job agents, including disabling or deleting email notification, in View My Activity Career Events Click on Career Events tab in the menu A list of all current Career Events will be displayed Select Category to refine search results Click the event name to view details, employers registered and/or RSVP Applicable fees* may be paid by credit card at the time of registration, in person or over the phone *Note: Most events require RSVP s and may have limits on the number of participants allowed to attend. It is highly encouraged to register early. A variety of events are offered each semester and many are free of charge. However, fees do apply to attend the Etiquette Dinner. 6

Students On-Campus Interviews NSU Career Services invites various employers and organizations throughout the academic year to the Tahlequah and Broken Arrow campus. The on-campus interview process provides a win-win for the employer, student and/or alumni; thus, providing recruiters with qualified candidates for current job opportunities and students and/or alumni easy access to interview on campus. The interview location will vary dependent upon employer preference. On-Campus Interview Request Put your cursor over On-Campus Interviews Select On-Campus Interview Request Click the Interview ID to view the specifics of the position and how to apply Note: You will only be able to submit a request to interview for those that you are qualified for. View All On-Campus Interviews You will be able to view all current on-campus interviews in the system under View All On-Campus Interviews. However, you may receive a notification that you do not qualify. If you believe there is an error and you do qualify, contact Career Services and request a review of your CareerLink account. 7

Students Job Shadowing Click on Job Shadowing in the upper menu bar A list of professionals will show Fill in the search criteria to narrow down your search To contact a professional, click on their name and click Contact Mentor Some contacts will allow you to view their contact information If they are only allowing anonymous contact, then an email form will appear for you to send through your CareerLink In this case, include your contact information: name, major, anticipated graduation date and email Viewing your activity Put your cursor over My Account and select My Activity There are five types of activity we suggest you view: 1. Referrals: These are resume referrals that you have submitted to an employer s job, our department has submitted on your behalf or an employer has downloaded your resume. 2. Placements: These are current job placements and details. 3. Schedules: The Schedule Activity shows any on-campus interviews that you are signed up for. You can also see any preselection activity that is still pending for you under the preselect section. 4. Event Registrations: These are the career events you are currently RSVP d for or previous events you RSVP d to attend. 5. Job Agents: Job agents will send you an email when any new jobs matching this search are available. You may view, disable or delete the job agent by blicking the link to apply the appropriate action. Note: You may disable the job agent without completely removing it. 8

Employers New Users - Registration Visit www.hirensugrads.com Select Employers icon > Select New Employer User Registration under CareerLink Search for your organization and select; if you can t find it, select Can t Find Your Organization Complete all sections Click Register Note: Once you register, your account will be in pending status. Career Services will review your account. You will receive an approval notice via email. Returning Users Select Employers icon > Select Employer Login under CareerLink Enter your username and password > Login Update My Profile Put your cursor over My Profile Sections include employer information and contact information Click Edit link to update fields within the section > Save Student Search Select Search > Enter criteria and click Search To view all students, just click on Search without entering any criteria Once your search is complete, view, sort or create a resume packet that you can receive via email 14

Employers Create a New Job Click My Jobs > New Job Enter job information Complete as much information as possible In the field Application Instructions enter the steps to apply for this position Click Save to update job posting Note: Under the Posting Information section, there are two fields that you need to review. In Show Contact Info, if you select NO, your contact information will not be available to potential employees. In Allow Online Referrals, if you select YES, students can submit their resume to you via CareerLink. Make Changes to Current Jobs Click My Jobs > Job List > Click on Job ID or Job Title to open job profile Sections include position information, contact information and posting information that you may update To make changes to any sections, click Edit Once completed, click Save Re-post an old job by opening the job profile and clicking Copy Job under the page functions on the left side of the screen Note: Once you add a job or make changes to a current job, it will be in pending status until reviewed by Career Services. You will receive an approval notice via email. 15

Employers Register for a Career Event Hover over Career Events > Search Enter category or click Search to see all current career events To view details or register, click the career event s name > Register Complete your profile and select the appropriate fees (if any) Note: Once you register for an event, you will be able to immediately print the invoice by clicking on the gray invoice button. You will also be emailed to confirm your registration to the event. If you need to make changes to your profile or fees after your registration has been confirmed, call our office at 918-444-3110. Request an On-Campus Interview Schedule Hover over On-Campus Interviews > New Schedule Request 1. Select your schedule type, preferred interview date and campus location 2. Select or add the job you want to interview for 3. Review your information and submit your request Note: Once you submit your schedule request, it will be reviewed by Career Services. You can access your completed schedule by hovering over My Interview Schedules and clicking on Schedule List. 16
