GIQuIC The GIQuIC registry, a nonprofit collaboration of the ASGE and the American College of Gastroenterology, streamlines measurement and documentation of quality. As a quality benchmarking registry, GIQuIC enables practices to track their performance on quality indicators for colonoscopy and EGD and compare it within the practice for individual physician performance and with other practices in a national database. GIQulC is approved as a CMS Qualified Clinical Data Registry (QCDR). giquic.org Educational Courses GI Endoscopy Unit Leadership: Cultivating a Successful Team February 2, 2018 Downers Grove, IL Focused on leaders roles and responsibilities to align teamwork around clinical and operational issues, this course will educate GI unit leaders on the essentials of running an efficient, high-quality and profitable unit. The program highlights practical approaches to the management and operations of an endoscopy unit and takes a deep dive into the core knowledge and competencies that leadership teams need to be effective managers, influencers, and advocates for their units. This course now counts toward renewal for the EURP. ASGE wants to help you put the pieces together in order to be successful in this new Medicare payment program. MACRA Resource Center With the enactment of the Medicare Access and CHIP Reauthorization Act (MACRA), ASGE has developed the MACRA Implementation Resource Center to provide the resources and tools needed to transition to the new Medicare Quality Payment Program (QPP) which consists of two participation tracks: the Merit-Based Incentive System (MIPS) or Alternative Payment Models (APMs). asge.org/macraps Quality Improvement Activities ASGE is committed to providing members with the resources, tools and programs needed to transition to the Quality Payment Program. Eligible clinicians participating in the following ASGE programming can attest to activities that fulfill the Improvement Activities Performance Category of the Merit-Based Incentive Payment System (MIPS) track. The following ASGE programs fulfill activities included in CMS list of 100+ designated improvement activities: GI Operations Benchmarking GI OPERATIONS The ASGE GI Operations Benchmarking BENCHMARKING supports healthcare teams in enhancing practice efficiencies and profitability through data-driven decision-making. Eligible clinicians participating in the web-based GI Operations Benchmarking initiative in 2017 can attest to the medium-weighted activity IA_PSPA_17: Implementation of analytic capabilities to manage total cost of care for practice population. Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program (EURP) The EURP application process supports healthcare teams in taking a holistic look at unit quality and creating the infrastructure to establish and maintain a culture of quality. Skills Training Assessment Reinforcement (STAR) Certificate Programs ASGE s Skills Training Assessment Reinforcement (STAR) Certificate programs take a multi-phase approach to prepare endoscopists to overcome Eligible clinicians in currently recognized or actively applying EURP units can attest tot he medium-weighted activity IA PSPA 19: Implementation of formal quality improvement methods, practice changes or other practice improvement processes. 8 asge.org/practicalsolutionsb ASGE challenges, gain confidence, and demonstrate their readiness to perform advanced endoscopic techniques to medical colleagues. Screening Colonoscopy Performance Improvement Module (PIM) The PIM guides you through the process of collecting and analyzing your own practice data over time using nationally recognized quality measures such as adenoma detection rate and their recommended performance targets. In addition you can earn up to 20 ABIM MOC Points. Eligible clinicians participating in this online module Screening Colonoscopy PIM can attest to the medium-weighted activity IA_PSPA_2: Participation in MOC Part IV. GIQuIC Qualified Clinical Data Registry-Related Activities Physicians from hospitals, universities, ambulatory surgery centers, and office-based endoscopy units nationwide are participating in the GIQuIC clinical benchmarking registry, collecting and electronically reporting on quality indicators for colonoscopy and EGD and benchmarking their performance to support their quality improvement initiatives. There are a number of improvement activities for those participating in the QIQuIC qualified clinical data registry (QCDR), including the high-weighted activity IA_PM_7: Use of QCDR for feedback reports that incorporate population health. 9
