Adan demonstrated strong integrity by returning the cell phone! What a great Mustang you are! Adan was nominated by Mr. Magee, Dean Congratulations to Jonathan Rodriguez who found a student s ID and immediately turned it in to the Main Office. Jonathan, you are a good example of what good and concern Mustang does. What a great Community Contributor! Jonathan was nominated by Mr. Hayes, Assistant Principal. Congratulations to Jacqueline Gurrola and Arlene Esquivel who jumped in to assist an ill classmate during passing period. Softball Tryouts: Interested in trying out for the 2017 softball team? We will be holding an informational meeting this Wednesday, October 19, 2016 at 3:45pm on the softball field. Tryouts will begin Thursday October 20, 2015. You must have a cleared physical to tryout. See Coach Guijarro in the girls PE office if you have any questions. Halloween Costume Contest: Hey Mustangs! Want to show off your Halloween Costume? Then Come and join us by the Mustang Quad Area during lunch to compete for the most creative, scary, or funny costume. There will be prizes, treats and caramel apples, so come to the Mustang Quad Area on Monday, October 31, 2016 and join us to play games. Senior Apparel Sales: Attention Millennial! Senior Apparel is coming up soon so save your money! Hoodies and T-shirts will be available beginning Monday, October 17, 2016 through Friday, November 04, 2016 during Lunch A by the Student Store area. Senior Movie Night Ticket Sales: Listen up Senior Mustangs, Senior Movie Night Ticket Sale will start Monday, October, 17, 2016 through Friday, November 4, 2016. Tickets will be $4.00. Tickets will include candy and a soda. Food will not be included, so therefore bring your own money to buy from the food truck we have provided. They will have a variety of food, ranging from wings, burgers, fires, etc. Prices range from $9.00 to $ 11.00. Remember you must have no candy or textbooks debts and have good attendance in order to buy tickets. Canned Food Drive: Hey Mustangs! We will be having our annual canned Food Drive beginning Monday, October 24, 2016 through Friday, November 11, 2016. Help feed the needy, it will be greatly appreciated! Canned goods will be collected by Leadership students during Advisory. weupstanders Meeting: Interested in helping others stay positive? Do you want to spread goodness? Want to prevent physical, emotional, and cyber-bullying? If the answer is YES, then join the weupstanders every Monday form 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. in Mr. Perez- Roman s Room B207. Remember, I Stand, You Stand, We All Stand Against Bullying. Breast Cancer Awareness Month: Hey Mustangs, its Breast Cancer Awareness Month! Wear Pink on Wednesdays! So come help the fight and donate what If you can in the Mustang Quad area every Wednesday. If you donate $3.00 or more you will receive a Community Contributor. Your donation is truly appreciated! Senior Packages: Seniors, remember that your initial orders and deposit for your Senior Packages are due Friday, December 9, 2016. If the fee is not paid by the deadline you will be charged an extra $10.00. The final date to fully pay for your Senior Package is February 10, 2017. Remember these dates as they are important to you Seniors. KYDS Program: The first KYDS Job Readiness will take place on Tuesday, September 20, 2016 at 3:40 p.m. in Room C204. Come learn how to fill out applications, make resumes, and answer interview questions and a lot more! Also the Fitness Center is open on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays with Coach Sascha from 3:30 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. Come and get fit! Volunteer Bilingual Peer Tutors Needed: Hey students! Are you bilingual? Are you earning excellent grades? Then consider lending a helping hand by becoming a Bilingual Peer tutor. We have tutoring classes available before school and after school. You can earn artifacts for your portfolio. By volunteering to be a bilingual peer tutor, you d be assisting English Learners with their academics. For more information, see Roxana De Paz in Leadership or Mrs. Guzman, TSP Coordinator in A112. Military Representatives: Every 2nd Wednesday of each month is Military Information day. There will be Military representative here in the College Center. Visit them during both lunches in order to retrieve more information about our United States Armed Forces. Beachy Gate Exit with Home Period: All students with a Home period 3 or 4 must exit campus through the Beachy Gate only. Hall Pass and Restroom Policy: Students are not allowed out of class the first and last 20 minutes of each period. The restrooms in the Gym will be open after school. The restrooms located in the middle of each B building floor will be open during passing period only. The restrooms adjacent to the Mustang Theatre will be open during class time. School Rules/Policies: The Dress Code, Electronic Device Confiscation rules and all other policies will be enforced immediately upon entering our campus. Advisory and Lunch Dismissal: To minimize the overcrowding of stairwells - all 9 th and 12 th grade students enter through the side stairwells of the B building after lunch. Additionally, all 10 th and 11 th grade students exit to the lunch area through the center stairwell of the B building only.

Debts: Textbook debts, Library debts, Candy-drive debts, and Athletic Uniform debts were carried over from last year. All students who owe a debt must pay it off. If you owe any debts see the following people listed to clear your debt: Textbook - Mr. Hayes, VAPA Office Library - Ms. Hein, Library Candy - Mr. Jimenez, Student Store Athletic Uniform - Athletic Coach Any student who owes a debt will not be allowed to participate in co-curricular activities. Staff Section: Extraordinary Mustang Staff, this week we begin Mester 2, it is so hard to believe! Last week we had a busy and amazing week. We had the Attendance Promotional; we celebrated our 10 th year Anniversary with a Pep Rally, Homecoming Game, Parade, Rose Ceremony, Coronation and Dance. Thank you Mustang Staff for your cooperation, understanding, patience and participation! We really appreciate it. You are Phenomenal and terrific! 5 Column Rosters: As mentioned in your SLC Meetings and the 5 Column Roster memos we have a new procedure for submitting attendance. We are asking teachers to take attendance on both MISIS and 5 Column Rosters for each one of their classes. This procedure will assist us in case of accidentally missed attendance submittals, MISIS glitches and audit purposes. Every Friday please send the attendance folder with your rosters to your SLC Office by 2:15 p.m. and on Monday you will receive a new set on of 5 Column rosters in your mail boxes. Your SLC Secretary will keep your rosters for record keeping purposes. Thank you for your support and cooperation. MISIS Roster and new enrollees: If a student still does not show up on your MISIS roster after 3 days or more, please inform your SLC office. Parking Buddies: Mustang Staff, please park your car in your assigned parking spot. See Mr. Kumar in the Main Office if you have any questions. Textbooks: If you still need any type of textbooks, please contact Mr. Hayes, Assistant Principal.
