Scholarships - Grants Qualification for these scholarships is typically based on financial need. UTI/NTI/MMI Tuition Scholarship The UTI/MMI/NTI Tuition Scholarships is based on financial need. It offers $1000-$3500 to students at any of our campuses. Complete your financial aid forms prior to applying for this scholarship. NASCAR Performance/NTI ScholarshipsNASCAR sponsors two scholarship programs targeted specifically to students at NTI Mooresville. The intent of these scholarships is to broaden diversity while Techs of Tomorrow. UTI National Scholarship Competition Tests for this scholarship are given to high school students in early spring for attendance the following fall. $475,000 is annually provided to more than 380 students, who receive up to $2500 each for achieving the highest scores on the test. SkillsUSA This partnership between students, teachers and industry ensures that America maintains a skilled workforce. Winners in state-based hands-on skills competitions can win various levels of monetary scholarships. Ford/AAA Student Auto Skills Competition This nationwide automotive technology competition is for high school juniors and seniors interested in pursuing careers as automotive service technicians. Winners in state-based hands-on skills competitions can win various levels of monetary scholarships. Furthermore, the Ford FACT/ASSET program will designate funds for certain winners toward our Ford Accelerated Credential Training (FACT) Program. Auto Dealers AssociationsVarious associations throughout the country have partnered with us to offer scholarships to students in their areas. Currently, dealer associations are participating in AZ, CA, NC, NY, PA, VA and WA, as well as through the National Auto Dealers Association (NADA).

Future Farmers of America (FFA) Several FFA associations throughout the country have partnered with us to offer scholarships to students in their areas. Currently, associations are participating in LA, OK, PA and TX. Girls World Expo This is an event centered on the educational and cultural development of girls ages 11-18. The expo provides seminars on numerous topics which encourage girls to feel comfortable and confident in pursuing their dreams and goals. The application deadline is Monday, December 31, 2012. Contact your preferred campus for more information about scholarships and funding. Village of Lisle, IL, Scholarships The following scholarships are available for those students who plan to attend the UTI- Lisle campus. UTI FOUNDATION SCHOLARSHIPS AND GRANTS Cheryl Bond Student Emergency Travel Grant - For recent high school graduates who have an en route travel-related emergency preventing them for starting school. Must be traveling more than 250 miles to a campus and be recommended by a UTI campus or field representative who will submit the required application form to the UTI Foundation. Advanced Training Scholarship Established by UTI s CEO Kim McWaters and her husband Chris, the Advanced Training Scholarship will assist students who wish to seek industry specific training but lack the resources to cover their relocation costs. This scholarship will help deserving students overcome a financial need which would prevent them from relocating to another UTI campus to receive advanced training in optional electives or Manufacturer Specific Advanced Training (MSAT). A minimum of five $1,000 cash grants will be awarded per month to cover student relocation costs such as travel expenses, rent, utilities, etc. AutoZone Scholarship With this scholarship, AutoZone will help deserving students attend any UTI/NTI campus automotive program to receive the technical education they need to follow their passion and pursue a successful career in automotive retail. One $2,000 scholarship per deadline will be awarded as a tuition grant-in-aid to assist in funding a portion of the student s education. Bridgestone/Firestone Technical Scholarship Future students attending the UTI Avondale, UTI Sacramento, UTI Rancho Cucamonga or the UTI Orlando campus may apply for this $2,000 scholarship. One award per deadline/per location will be awarded as a tuition grant-in-aid to assist in funding a portion of the student s education.

William K. Burke Student Support Fund As a way to pay tribute to the life and accomplishments of Bill Burke, this scholarship was established to assist a current student in good standing in the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute Early Model Program, at the Orlando, FL campus. One $1,100 grant-in-aid will be awarded annually. Albert A. Cabito Scholarship The Albert A. Cabito scholarship program was developed to aid future students pursue a technical education at any UTI or NTI automotive campus. One $2,000 scholarship will be awarded each quarter. This scholarship program was made possible by a generous grant from the Cabito Family with additional support from Toyota Motor Sales U.S.A. Inc. and UTI. Richard Caputo Jr. Scholarship The A. Richard Caputo Jr. Scholarship was developed to help deserving students attend any UTI campus automotive program to receive the technical education they need to follow their passion and pursue successful careers. Future students meeting the criteria may apply for this $2,500 tuition grant-in-aid. Two awards will be made per deadline. This scholarship program is made possible by the generosity of A. Richard Caputo Jr. CFC Military Veterans Support Grant The CFC Military Veterans Support Grant will support veteran students with the greatest financial need who face an insurmountable financial hardship which jeopardizes their ability to get to school or stay in school. The award can be used cover costs such as rent, utilities, gas, moving expenses, etc. The award amount available is up to $750 and will be determined based on available funds and the need of the applicant. Richard "Pup" Conklin Motorcycle Mechanics Scholarship This $1,200 tuition grant-in-aid was established by the friends and family of Richard "Pup" Conklin to help a local Ohio student pursue their educational dreams. One scholarship is available to a current student in good standing at the Orlando, FL or Phoenix, AZ campus of MMI. *NEW* Drew Cox Memorial Scholarship The Drew Cox Memorial Scholarship is established to allow deserving students to study at the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute in Orlando, Florida, and to carry on Drew s philosophy of generosity, fairness and a passion for motorcycles and ATVs. One $1,000 grant-in-aid will be awarded annually.

Clint Cunard and Michael Godden Memorial Scholarship To honor the memories of Clint Cunard and Michael Godden by recognizing a Harrison County, Iowa resident with a strong passion for motorcycles and a desire to further their education at either the Motorcycle Mechanics Institute Orlando, FL or Phoenix, AZ campus. Future students meeting the criteria may apply for this $2,000 scholarship which will be presented as a tuition grant-in-aid to assist in funding a portion of one recipient s education. UTI Foundation Brienne Davis Scholarship The scholarship is named in memory of Brienne Davis, a UTI graduate and NASCAR official. This scholarship is open to any eligible female who wishes to attend the automotive program at any Universal Technical Institute campus. A letter of recommendation and essay is required. Exton, PA Campus Tuition Scholarship This need based $2,500 scholarship is available for enrolled students at the UTI Exton PA campus who wish to pursue an automotive technician career. Please complete the attached application and submit it along with a letter of recommendation and a paragraph expressing your desire to achieve professional success. Daimler Trucks North America Bob Fyda Finish First Scholarship A $3,150 scholarship for a future diesel tech student attending the Avondale campus who agrees to work for a Daimler Trucks North America Dealership following graduation. *NEW* Daniel W. Gruber (DANBNO) Memorial Scholarship Established in memory of Daniel W. Gruber, this $1,000 scholarship will assist a deserving Senior at Eastside Technical Center, Lexington, KY, to fund a portion of their education at any UTI /NTI campus. One award will be made annually. Ryan J. Guay Memorial Tuition Scholarship This $1,000 tuition grant-in-aid was established by Ryan s family to help a student from Maine pursue their educational goal of becoming an automotive or motorcycle mechanic.

Robert D. Hartman Opportunity Scholarship The Robert D. Hartman Opportunity Scholarship recognizes the lifetime achievement of Universal Technical Institute former President and CEO Robert D. Hartman. This scholarship is designed to assist recent high school graduates who are having difficulty bridging the funding gap between the cost of a UTI education and federal funding assistance. Future students who will attend either the Avondale, AZ, Rancho Cucamonga or Sacramento CA campus of UTI and who meet all the scholarship s criteria may apply for this $5,000 grant-in-aid. Two awards will be made annually. Ryan G. Kehoe Memorial Tuition Scholarship This $1,000 tuition grant-in-aid was established by Ryan s family to help a student pursue their educational goal of becoming a motorcycle technician at the MMI Orlando, FL campus. *NEW* Matthew W. Madole Memorial Tuition Scholarship The Matthew W. Madole Memorial Scholarship is intended to carry on Matthew s legacy by assisting a Texas high school graduate pursue his or her dream of a career as a motorcycle mechanic at the MMI Orlando campus. One $1,000 grant-in-aid will be awarded annually to assist in funding a portion of the recipient s education. Nissan Automotive Technical Training Scholarship Program Nissan North America, Nissan Neighbors and the UTI Foundation are partnering with Nissan Dealers and Infiniti Retailers to provide tuition support for students interested in attending the Nissan Automotive Technical Training program at four UTI NATT campuses, Houston, NASCAR Tech, Orlando and Sacramento. Selected students will receive a $5,000 award to be used as a full tuition scholarship with additional funds for housing and living expenses. Click on the apply now button to receive additional information and a scholarship application. *NEW* Glendale Heights Campus Nissan Automotive Technical Training Scholarship Nissan is looking for technicians who combine good technical skills and attitude to be a member of the Nissan/Infiniti dealer service team. This scholarship program is sponsored by Nissan Neighbors and the Nissan Foundation. The UTI Foundation Glendale Heights Campus Nissan Automotive Technical Training Scholarship program seeks to assist students with the relocation costs, tuition costs and or living expenses for the 9 week Nissan Automotive Technical Training Program. Students will be chosen who truly understand and exhibit the traits necessary to have a successful career with Nissan/Infiniti dealers. Selected students will receive a $6,500 scholarship (awarded as a $1,500 cash grant and a $5,000 grant-in-aid applied to the student s NATT program tuition).

*NEW* Nolt Family Scholarship The Nolt Family Scholarship will help deserving Universal Technical Institute Exton, PA students with the greatest financial need to obtain the technical education they need to follow their passion and pursue successful careers. One cash grant will be awarded per deadline, not to exceed $2,000 (award amount will be based on need) to assist in funding a portion of their tuition or housing setup costs. Roger Penske Outstanding Student Award The purpose of the Roger Penske Outstanding Student Award is to recognize exceptional UTI students who are dedicated to succeeding in the automotive service industry and who have demonstrated the ability to assist other students to do the same. The selected award winner will be given a cash award of $12,000. Relocation Grant The Relocation Grant will support future students with the greatest financial need who face an insurmountable financial hardship in getting to campus to start their education. There is a matching fund requirement from the student. The award can be used cover relocation costs associated with moving to any UTI/MMI/NTI campus to start school, such as: travel costs (gas, hotel stay), initial rent/mortgage payment, utilities, or other setup fees. The award amount available is up to $750 and will be determined based on available funds and the need of the applicant. *NEW* Relocation Grant for NASCAR Technical Institute Campus Through the generous support of Canteen Vending Corporation, the NASCAR Technical Institute Relocation Grant will support future students with the greatest financial need who face an insurmountable financial hardship in getting to campus to start their education. There is a matching fund requirement from the student. The award can be used cover relocation costs associated with moving to the NASCAR Technical Institute campus in Mooresville, NC to start school, such as: travel costs (gas, hotel stay), initial rent/mortgage payment, utilities, or other setup fees. The award amount available is up to $1,000 and will be determined based on available funds and the need of the applicant. Brian T. Rounds Travel Grant In Memory of Brian T. Rounds his family has started this grant for students enrolled/currently attending the MMI Phoenix campus. Eligible applicants must also be relocating from either MO; GA; or AZ. The purpose of the fund is to provide a cash grant to assist an MMI Phoenix student cover a shortage of funds needed to relocate and start school. The award can be used to assist with moving or cost of living expenses. The award will be made to one recipient in early March.

Bob Sweet Founder's Scholarship This scholarship is named for Founder Bob Sweet who began UTI in 1965 with the first class consisting of five automatic transmission students. The Bob Sweet Founder s Scholarship was established to help deserving students fulfill their dream of attending the UTI Avondale campus to receive a first class technical education. One $4,500 scholarship will be awarded as a tuition grant-in-aid to assist in funding a portion of the student s education. Andrew Carl Sliwinski Memorial Scholarship In memory of Andrew Carl Sliwinski, this scholarship was established to help a deserving student fulfill their dream of completing their education in the NASCAR Technical Institute Ford Fact program. One $500 scholarship will be awarded to a NASCAR Technical Institute student currently attending the Ford Fact program to assist in funding a portion of the student s education. John C. and Cynthia Lynn White MMI Founder's Scholarship The John C. and Cynthia Lynn White MMI Founders scholarship was established for deserving students who have the passion and desire to attend Motorcycle Mechanics Institute yet lack the necessary financial resources to achieve their dream. Future students meeting the criteria may apply for this $5,000 tuition grant-in-aid. Four scholarships will be provided per deadline. JHE Production Group Scholarship To recognize a student at the NASCAR Technical Institute who exhibits a love of racing and wants to make a difference in the motorsports industry. One $1,000 scholarship will be awarded as a tuition grant-in-aid to assist in funding a portion of the selected student s education. Sponsored Scholarships These scholarships are created in partnership with some of the biggest names in sports. The Jeremy McGrath Scholarship We ve teamed up with 7 time Supercross Champion Jeremy McGrath and Supercross to create a scholarship opportunity to help a deserving applicant attend our Motorcycle Mechanics Institute (MMI). The Dennis Anderson Grave Digger Scholarship We re pleased to offer this tuition scholarship, sponsored by Monster Jam Champion Dennis Anderson, to a deserving applicant to attend out Universal Technical Institute (UTI). Private Scholarships Third party organizations offer these scholarships based on various qualification criteria, such as grade point average or competition outcomes.

Tuition Reduction Programs Tuition reduction assists those that have great financial needs. Military Veteran Tuition Reduction Program 1 Prospective students who meet all other admissions requirements and who can show verification of honorable discharge from the US Armed Forces via a valid DD214 may apply for a 10% tuition discount. This program is not available to students enrolling at the Exton, Pennsylvania campus. The Military Veteran Tuition Discount program cannot be used in conjunction with the Military Award Program (MAP). If a qualified student has already been awarded a MAP scholarship, it will be replaced by a tuition discount pursuant to this program. Dislocated Worker Tuition Reduction Program 2 Prospective students who have lost their jobs due to downsizing or outsourcing and meet all the admissions requirements may apply for a 20% tuition discount. Applicants must also be one of the following: Dislocated workers who have been outsourced or downsized, and are receiving Workforce Investment Act (WIA) benefits; or Dislocated workers who have been outsourced or downsized, and are receiving Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) benefits.

Process for Tuition Reduction Programs You must submit an application with required documentation to the person or department shown on the application form. Contact your preferred campus for more information about scholarships and funding. UTI complies with all state, federal and accreditation requirements in awarding scholarships or tuition reduction programs. UTI does not discriminate against or tolerate the harassment of any potential applicant, applicant or student on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, disability, age or any other legally protected status in the provision of its courses, programs, services or activities. 1 These programs are subject to modification or cessation at the school s discretion. Affected incoming students will be notified of changes to the program. Discounts will be prorated over the term of the entire enrolled program. These programs are not available to students enrolling at the Exton, Pennsylvania campus. Students who cannot provide proof of honorable discharge will not be eligible to receive this tuition discount. UTI tuition discount programs cannot be combined. If a student qualifies for both discounts, s/he will receive the larger of the two.
