OVERVIEW OF THE GREEK COMMUNITY AT LINFIELD COLLEGE The Linfield College Greek Community was born in 1904 with the establishment of the Delta Psi Delta local fraternity. It has since grown significantly to include four sororities and four fraternities. The Director of College Activities, with help from the College Activities & Greek Life Program Assistant, serves as the College s Greek Life Advisor. Director of College Activities Daniel Fergueson dfergue@linfield.edu College Activities & Greek Life Program Assistant Sarah Fuller sfuller@linfield.edu GREEK GOVERNANCE STRUCTURE Advising and all non-conduct supervision of Greek organizations at Linfield College falls under the purview of the Greek Advisor. The College Conduct Office handles all conduct issues involving Greek letter organizations and their members. The Greek Relationship Statement sets policies and regulations regarding the Greek Community. The Greek Relationship Statement is a binding agreement between the College and the Greek Chapters adopted by the Board of Trustees. Additionally the Greek Risk Management document dictates risk management policies. Both documents can be found at linfield.edu/greek under the resources tab. GREEK COUNCILS The Linfield College Greek Community has two councils that oversee the Greek community. The Interfraternity Council (IFC) oversees the four fraternities. The Linfield Panhellenic Council (LPC) oversees the four sororities. The councils are responsible for overseeing Greek recruitment, the Greek image, and handling inter-chapter conflicts. FRATERNITIES Linfield College has three national fraternities and one local fraternity. The National fraternities are Kappa Sigma, Pi Kappa Alpha, and Theta Chi. The local fraternity is Delta Psi Delta. SORORITIES Linfield College has three national sororities and one local sorority. The national sororities are Alpha Phi, Phi Sigma Sigma, and Zeta Tau Alpha. The local sorority is Sigma Kappa Phi. ORDER OF OMEGA Order of Omega is a national Greek honor society. In order to be considered for membership, you must be a junior or senior member of the Greek community, rank academically above the all-greek average, be in good standing with your Greek organization, and have at least one full year of academic residence at Linfield College.
