Basis of Design and List of Requirements: Prior to the development of this Request for Proposal, the College researched various products, as well as performed on-site visits. The products which appear as the Basis of Design are the result of this research; however, this does not guarantee that any specific product examined becomes the product considered suitable by the end-user. The waterjet will be operated in the CIM lab as part of the equipment array. Since multiple machines could be running simultaneously, operational sound levels, and maintaining a clean area around the waterjet emerged as top priorities. A Basis of Design or brand-name-or-equal specification cites one or more brand-names, model numbers, or other designations that identify the specific products of a particular manufacturer as having the characteristics of the suitable item, as defined by the College. Any other brands or models substantially equivalent to those named will be considered for award, with the College reserving the final right to determine equivalency and best overall value.
