The Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service is Winthrop's biggest annual volunteer event that brings students together to do community service! The MLK Day of Service event honors Dr. King's legacy of service by working with the community and building unity and relationships across campuses and communities around the world. It is a powerful opportunity to serve in our community and learn about the different kinds of service you can participate in throughout the year. With 30+ educational sessions and keynote speakers, SLDC trains and educates participants in: Essential leadership skills for a diverse society Developing a leadership identity Creating initiatives and methods to foster sustainable positive change Maximizing their student leadership experience Black History Month Celebration Film Festival Date: February 5, 2018 Time: 10:00 AM 6:00 PM Location: Barnes Theater Baxter Hood Center Details: Students can view multiple films throughout the day between schedules or after class. Clubs and Organizations Community Service Fair Day Date: February 15, 2018 Time: 10:00 AM 2:30 PM Details: This spring, we invited community agencies to campus to recruit volunteers. Student will have an opportunity to meet representatives from a local agencies that represent a wide variety of volunteer roles. You can also learn about on-campus opportunities for volunteering.

Celebrating the Past, Present and Future influential members of our society. Hosted by Promise Program. March Events Coffee and Conversation (Collegiate Health Awareness Week) Date: March 1, 2018 Time: 11:00 AM 12:30 PM Details: In collaboration with the YTC Fitness Club, students will create FIT for LIFE vision boards. Student will also have the opportunity to have talk with representatives from a local fitness center for potential membership. Free iced coffee provided. Industrial & Engineering Job Expo Date: March 15, 2018 Time: 10:00 am 12:00 pm Location: C Building, Room 128 Details: Students will have an opportunity to network with area organizations to discuss career information as well as part-time, full-time, intern, and apprentice employment opportunities. College Transfer Day Date: March 20, 2018 Time: 1:30 pm 4:00 pm Details: Students will have an opportunity to interact with college and university admissions recruiters from across the state.

Business Computers Arts & Sciences Job Expo and Health and Human Services Job Expo Date: March 22, 2018 Time: 1:30 pm 4:00 pm Details: Students will have an opportunity to network with area organizations to discuss career information as well as part-time, full-time, intern, and apprentice employment opportunities. Health and Wellness Fair Date: March 29, 2018 Time: 10:00 AM 2:00 PM Details: Community agencies will be on campus to provide students with health and wellness education, free screenings, nutrition and more. Food will be provided for students. April Events Mock-tails and Conversation (Alcohol and Sexual Assault Awareness Month) Date: April 5, 2018 Time: 11:00 AM 12:30 PM Details: Student will also have the opportunity to engage in group dialogue from provided scenarios on substance abuse and sexual assault. A guest speaker from Keystone Substance Abuse Center will be on site. Free mock-tails will be provided.
