Thurston County Search and Rescue Washington Explorer Search and Rescue is a statewide organization comprised of youth and adult volunteers dedicated to helping those who are lost or injured in wilderness or urban settings. They also assist the Sheriff s Department in other missions such as flood control and crime scene evidence searches. Other activities they are involved in are: parking lot attendants, sand bagging during floods, and other community activities. Training for new members is offered twice a year.
