The Lions mission is to empower volunteers to serve their communities, meet humanitarian needs, encourage peace, and promote international understanding through Lions Clubs. The Auburn Lions Club was organized on April 21, 1965 by a group of men who cared about this community. Later, when women were added as Lions in 1987, Auburn, too, welcomed women into the Club.
