GOR 17 IN BERLIN THE GENERAL ONLINE RESEARCH TAKES PLACE FROM 15-17 MARCH 2017 IN BERLIN AT THE HOCHSCHULE FÜR TECHNIK UND WIRTSCHAFT BERLIN (HTW)/UNIVERSITY OF APPLIED SCIENCES. GOR 17 is organized by the Deutsche Gesellschaft für Online- Forschung e.v. (DGOF)/German Society for Online Research together with the HTW Berlin as local partner. GOR focuses on the documentation and discussion of current developments and new methods in German and international digital research. The three day conference consists of an extensive lecture and workshop programme with a focus on Methods of Online Research, Data Science & Big Data, Electoral Research & Political Communication as well as Applied Online Research. ABOUT THE GENERAL ONLINE RESEARCH Almost 300 participants have attended GOR in 2016. Internationally, General Online Research is one of the few conferences which manages to get participants from academia and business together in one place to exchange their experiences in online and digital research. For GOR 17 in Berlin again more than 300 participants are expected to attend the conference. Participants come from academia, the private sector, official statistics, and the government.
THE CONFERENCE PROGRAMME On Wednesday, 15 March 2017 we will start off with workshops on online research. In the afternoon there will be the DGOF members meeting. In the evening we will meet for the pre-conference GOR Get-Together. The GOR conference itself takes place on Thursday, 16 March, and Friday, 17 March 2017. There will be two days of oral and poster presentations. Additionally, a number of panels will discuss relevant issues and problems of online and digital research. The famous GOR-Party will take place on Thursday evening. THE CONFERENCE PROGRAMME HAS FOUR TRACKS: Track A: Internet Surveys, Mobile Web and Online Research Methodology: Presentations in this track address the methodology of Internet and mobile web surveys and online research methodology in general. Track B: Big Data and Data Science: Submissions in this track focus on the application of large scale data and data science to understand human behaviour. Track C: Electoral Research and Political Communication: Submissions in this track focus on empirical and theoretical contributions to political communication, and social science related to online research. Track D: Applied Online Research: This track deals with any issues related to applied online research and new developments in this field. It is organized in cooperation with marktforschung.de.
