OVERVIEW The North American Mission Board (NAMB) exists to work with churches, associations and state conventions in mobilizing Southern Baptists as a missional force to impact North America with the gospel through evangelism and church planting. We accomplish this through Send North America our national strategy for mobilizing churches to plant churches and mobilizing church planters and other missionaries to assist those efforts. Through Send North America, NAMB wants to help discover, develop and deploy missionaries and churches to penetrate lostness in North America. Our goal is to see 15,000 churches planted in North America by 2022. Send North America focuses on mobilizing missionaries and churches. Involvement begins by registering through the Request and Application Portal (sendmeportal.namb.net) which is NAMB s mobilization system for connecting individuals, churches, associations and state convention partners to missionaries who plant churches in North America. After registration, churches or individuals are assessed to identify which partnerships or missionary tracks best fit them. NAMB will then recommend and provide any needed equipping and training, including evangelism and leadership development, before the missionary or church enters the mission field. This guide will explain the process of requesting missionary positions with NAMB through a portal and our customized online forms. Each request can be submitted, reviewed, approved/declined, tracked and quickly matched to prospective applicants. The applicant s process is included at the end of the document to provide insight into how the application process works with the request process. Each application leads candidates through a comprehensive series of questions designed as a vetting process. This provides missionaries and field partners with the ability to connect and conduct missionary work. [5]

COMMON PAGE FEATURES IN RAP Each page in RAP contains common tools. The image and table below explain these tools and how to use them. Reference Description 1 Click this icon to open and close the left-side menu. 2 Click Help to open the RAP Support page and access User Guides, Release Notes and videos. 3 Click App Launcher (either the link or icon) to activate the Application Launcher window. From this window, click the name of an application to open it. 4 View this section to see your role information. 5 Click Log Out to end your session. 6 Click this icon to open and close the Search and Filters tool. Each page has customized search and filter fields. [6]

APPLICATION AND REQUEST OVERVIEW The Request and Application process is comprised of two processes working in parallel. A candidate follows the process for applying to be a missionary and a field contact follows the process of requesting a position. At the end of each process, there should be a match of applicant to request which results in placement of the Missionary. Church Planter Process [7]

REQUESTS You can make a request in the Requests and Applications portal for a missionary position in your convention or Send City. With the exception of Returned, which is only used if necessary, an initial request will progress through the following statuses: Status In Progress Pending Confirmation Returned Pending Approval Pending Approved Filled Description Created by the requester, but not yet submitted Submitted by the requester, but not yet confirmed by the EMS team Request has been returned to the requester for editing Confirmed by the Connection Center but not yet approved by the Regional Mobilizer Approved by the Mobilizer, pending the funding is approved in the Planting Projector and matched to this (applies to Church Planter requests only) Approved by the Regional Mobilizer and waiting to be matched to an approved applicant whose status is Awaiting Assignment Position is filled and request is complete Creating a New Request Complete the following steps to create a new request: 1. Log in to RAP. 2. Under My Requests, click Active. 3. Click Create New Request. [8]

The Create New Request window appears: 4. Select the Missionary Type you are requesting. Questions will vary based on the Missionary Type requested. 5. On the next window, complete the required fields. You will see the request number which is a unique ID number assigned to each request. [9]

There are multiple pages for each section, but within each section is a status bar at the top showing the percentage complete. 6. Complete the Field of Service sections, and click Next. 7. Complete the Missionary Information sections, and click Next. Note: It is important to designate an applicant for this position request, so you must enter their name and email address here. This will be important to the matching process and the Planting Projector process for a Church Planter request. 8. On the Information window, you have the opportunity show the amount of funding and from where it will originate. Note: Some positions, such as Evangelism Catalyst, are fully self or MSC-funded. Because of the differences in positions, each request has specific on-screen instructions to assist you in completing the individual funding sections. [10]

9. Complete the funding pages. Note: If you are creating more than one request with the same specifications, you can clone the request before you submit. See Cloning Requests. 10. To complete the request, click Submit. Upon submitting the request, the status changes to Pending Confirmation. Monitoring the Status of the Request You will receive RAP-generated emails throughout the approval process to let you know how your request is progressing. You can also log into RAP to check the status by completing the following steps: 1. Log in to RAP. 2. On your home page under My Requests, click Active. 3. Click the search icon to access the Search and Filters tool to search for a specific request. 4. Click the Request ID on the tile. The following Details window appears: [11]

5. Click Event History to see the date and time each status was updated. Clicking Communications History allows you to see the text of each email message that was sent. for Church Planter Requests Requests that you create for Church Planters should go through funding approval in the Planting Projector Module. The Planting Projector allows: Planters to forecast their financial numbers for their ministry Coaches to review and provide advice NAMB internal staff to review and approve before committing to overall funding support. [12]

You may complete fields on the funding pages, but when the Planting Projection is approved, those figures override any amounts you ve entered in the request. See Planting Projector User Guide for more information. When the Regional Mobilizer approves the Planting Projection, your request is in Approved status and moved to the Approved page in RAP. Note: Other missionary positions are approved based on the matrix in the request and do not go through the Planting Projector process. Approved Requests Your request can now be filled by an applicant whose status is Awaiting Assignment. When the Connection Center confirms the match, the status of the Request is moved to Filled. Change Requests If your request is in Approved or Filled status and any details about your request have changed since you created it, you must create a Change Request. You may also use this feature to terminate a position or missionary. Complete the following steps to make changes to your request: 1. Log in to RAP. 2. On your home page, under My Requests, click Approved. 3. Click the search icon to access the Search and Filters tool to search for a specific request. 4. Click the Request ID on the tile. The Details window appears: [13]

5. Click Change Request. The Change Request form appears: 6. Click Yes to terminate the position and all funding for the position or No to make changes to the existing request. 7. Click Submit. Note: The Change Request must go through the same approval process as the initial request. It is assigned a new Request ID but, for tracking purposes, both Request ID numbers are displayed: [14]

Cloning Requests Complete the following steps to clone a request: 1. On the final page of the Information before clicking Submit, click Clone Request. The Duplicate Request window appears: [15]

2. Select the number of duplicates (copies) you want to make of your newly created request, and click Submit. 3. Close the window, and click Submit on the Information page to submit the original request and the duplicates. These requests are now in Pending Confirmation status. 4. To update the cloned requests with specific information, click Edit at the bottom of the request tile. [16]
