2014 Hello Greta, We became very worried when you wrote: in order to save our organisation which is in danger of getting withdrawn. But we also became glad since you have decided to renew your organizational work and to become more active in International Sea Cades Organisation. The Swedish Sea Cadet Corps Association is more than willing to help you in your effort. That means that we are able and willing to talk to your Government or your Parliament. Our questions for the moment are as follows: Do you want us to talk about anything more than ISCA, for example about Sea Cadet training in common and its importance for our young people?
LETTER TO MICHAEL JAN 2015 We would like to inform you about sea cadet situation in Lithuania. Now we have reestablished NGO Jūrų skautija Divytis (Sea scouts Divytis ) in which we formed a specialized unit of sea cadets. And our main purpose, according to previous Swedish Sea Cadets observations, is to orientate our activity towards sea cadet activity.
QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS 2015 Are you in the same organization as before but now as a special branch? The question is important as it is Sea Cadets of Lithuania that is member of ISCA. Yes, we are in the same organisation, but now as a branch of Jūrų skautija "Divytis. Lietuvos jūrų skautija does no longer exists.
Can you please describe your new organization more in detail and your thoughts about education, other activities and sea safety? Our new organisation aims to train young peope to be patriotic, strong, educated and sea-loving citizens. We organize various events, including traditional hikes, survival hikes, sailing camps, longer or shorter camps, trips to historical sites and other activity. Our main goals : To God, Homeland, sea and neighbor! We have learned from mistakes and now we follow every rule provided so we do what we can to not let risky incidents like before happen again.
Can you please describe what kind of activities you intend to have in Lithuania during an exchange? This summer we are organizing a special camp called "Jūrų kadetai 4 with activites like survival hike, testing cadet's survival, cooperation, orientation, sailing, camping, visiting Lithuanian Naval Force and our historical sites, sailing in Kaunas and some other activities.
Is it possible for you to follow the ISCA Escort Officers Guide? Yes, it is possible, except the part about uniforms, because we don't know if we will get them from Lithuanian Naval Force, but we hope that we will, and if not, we could use our scouting uniforms or try to buy some of them ourselves.
LAST LETTER TO SWEDEN In Lithuania we have changed organization. We have a new name: Sea scouts "Divytis In our last national conference, we decided to have an independent section - Sea cadets. In 2015 January this section was updated. There are two ages groups: 12-14 years 14 years and more There is only one difference in this Sea cadets section. People who care more about military and sea activities are in this section. This section shall have own activities and represents Lithuania Sea cadets.
It is a pity but our delegate from Lithuania is not going to attend the ISCA conference this year. In 2016 maybe we will gather some finances for this. That is why we are asking Sweden sea cadets association to represent our organization in the conference.
