Procedures and Tests Adheres to time allocation of procedure clinic bookings so patient wait times at clinic are kept to a minimum. Procedures and tests are undertaken in accordance with WDHB documentation and guidelines. Follows guidelines as set by the cardiologists and which reflect the best overseas practice. Understands that WDHB cardiac sonographers report their studies which is a practice specific to WDHB (in most other centers echoes are reported by cardiologists). KEY TASKS EXPECTED OUTCOMES Leader Echocardiography have determined the skill level is at an appropriate stage. Contributes to the data which is available to demonstrate accuracy of calculations, reproducibility/validation and trends. Has a shared responsibility with the cardiac ultrasound team to see that equipment is maintained in good working order with documentation of preventative maintenance and electrical safety testing episodes. Refers to flowcharts for equipment fault finding, detection and repair of minor malfunctions and notifies appropriate personnel when equipment fails and/or requires further repair. Is conversant with the operation requirements for all relevant equipment. Statutory & Treaty of Waitangi obligations Ensures the professional and political integrity of WDHB by carrying out all functions in compliance of the Treaty of Waitangi and by demonstrating a serious commitment to keeping the treaty alive.
