Here is some preliminary info: All State Auditions Location: Shrewsbury HS, travel by bus from CC Date: Saturday, January 24, 2015, CCHS Audition Time is 11:15 AM, Snow Date: Sunday, January 25, 2015 All State Fees 2014 All State Audition Fee: $20.00 2014 All State Festival Student Registration Fee: $300.00 (scholarship help available) The All-State Festival is at Boston Seaport Hotel, March 19-21, 2015, culminating with a performance at Symphony Hall!
Eastern District Festival Itinerary Friday, January 9: You will be on a Field Trip List-alert your teachers Meet in Band Room 7:00am to board bus Rehearsal at Boston Latin School 8:30am-5:00pm Bus Returns to CCHS @ approximately 6:00 pm Bring: Music, instrument, wire music stand,pencil, mutes/accessories bottled water, bagged lunch, money for concert tix and/or snacks Saturday, January 10: Meet in Band Room 7:30am to board bus Rehearsal at Boston Latin School starts at 9:00am Concerts begins at 1:30pm Bring: Concert Dress as specified in the packet, music, pencil, bottled water, and bagged lunch. Please note: There will be no return bus to CCHS on Saturday. Return travel home is parent responsibility! Directions to the Festival Site are provided below for your parents on Concert Day. Per MENC regulations no student may drive themselves or ride with another student to any of the district events.
DIRECTIONS TO BOSTON LATIN SCHOOL 78 Avenue Louis Pasteur Boston, Massachusetts 02115 (617) 635-8895 From the South and Route 3, or From the North and Routes 1, 93, or 95 Take Storrow Drive West to The Fenway, Route 1 South, overpass. Exit to your right onto Boylston Street Outbound. Turn left at the next light, onto Park Drive. Staying to your left, follow Park Drive. (You will pass a park on your left; if you look across the park, you will see the Museum of Fine Arts and the Main College Building of Simmons, with its green cupola.) The first major intersection you reach will be Brookline Avenue/Boylston Street. (There will be an Exxon Station on your right.) Cross Brookline Avenue and bear left at your first opportunity following the green sign pointing to The Fenway. (You will have made a U-turn and reversed direction). Continue straight, again crossing Brookline Avenue, onto The Fenway. Immediately after passing Emmanuel College, take your first right onto Avenue Louis Pasteur. The Boston Latin School parking lot is just beyond the school on your left. From the West and Route 2 Take Storrow Drive East and follow the above directions. Via the Massachusetts Turnpike Remain on the Mass Pike until the Prudential Center/ Copley Square exit, #22. Take the Prudential Center exit (the left lane), which brings you out on Huntington Avenue, westbound. Continue on Huntington Avenue for one mile (8 lights); you will pass Northeastern University and the Museum of Fine Arts (on your right). One block past the Museum, at the traffic light, make a right onto Louis Prang Street. There will be a sign for Simmons College and a Texaco Station on the corner. Continue straight through the blinking light; the street name will change to The Fenway. You will pass the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum and the Main College Building of Simmons College, 300 The Fenway, on your left. Immediately after passing 300 The Fenway, turn left onto Avenue Louis Pasteur. (You will have to turn at this point, as the oncoming traffic is one way only.) The Boston Latin School parking lot is just beyond the school on your left. Parking in Boston Latin School lots is for faculty and staff only. All others are subject to tow. Two visitor parking spots are available in the small lot in front of the dining hall on Ave. Louis Pasteur. When visiting, check into the main office for a Visitor's Pass and to register your car. No parking is allowed on Ave. Louis Pasteur! On special occasions, the City of Boston may waive the no parking ban for event parking at Boston Latin School. Please check the event information for those exceptions. Parking is also restricted at both Simmons College and Emmanuel College. Parking garages are located nearby for a parking fee. Some garages are located on Longwood Avenue near the hospitals. The 110 Francis Street Garage (off Brookline Avenue) is open 24 hours a day, also.

A Federated State Unit of the Music Educators National Conference Endorsed by the Massachusetts Secondary School Administrators Association EASTERN SENIOR FESTIVAL INFORMATION 2015 EASTERN DISTRICT SENIOR FESTIVAL FRIDAY, JANUARY 9 AND SATURDAY, JANUARY 10 BOSTON LATIN SCHOOL BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS REGISTRATION FEE The registration fee for the 2015 Eastern Senior District Festival is $25.00. The fee, principal form and signed rehearsal policies form are due at the registration desk at the first rehearsal. REHEARSAL REGULATIONS Due to limited rehearsal time, it is essential that students be on time for all rehearsals. Please be sure to arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled time so that students may tune, warm up, and be in their seats ready to start the rehearsal at the assigned time. Students will not be excused from rehearsals. Attendance at all rehearsals is mandatory in order to be eligible for Saturday s performance. Each school district must have a designated chaperone in attendance at all times. TRANSPORTATION No student may drive to or from rehearsals or be in a car driven by another student. Students not adhering to this policy will be disqualified from the festival and lose their All-State Recommendation. Each school is responsible for its participants. MEALS All students should bring a bag lunch to festival rehearsals. CONCERT DRESS GIRLS: Long, black skirt (floor length) or black dress pants, BLACK nylons and black shoes, white long sleeved blouse. BOYS: Dark pants and dark jacket (preferably black), white shirt, tie, dark socks and dark shoes. No jeans or sneakers.
EQUIPMENT Each participant should have his or her equipment and all accessories in top shape for rehearsals and for the concert. Be sure to bring your music, pencil and a folding music stand (instrumentalists only) to all rehearsals. Cello and Bass players must have rubber tips on endpins. Students assigned to snare drum parts should bring their own snare drum. MEDICAL AID A nurse will be on duty for all rehearsals and for the concert. REHEARSAL SCHEDULE Friday, January 9 8:30am - 4:30pm Saturday, January 10 9:00am Concerts begin at 1:30 p.m. All rehearsals will be held at Boston Latin School. Please be sure to arrive at least fifteen (15) minutes prior to the scheduled time so that students may tune, warm up, and be in their seats ready to start the rehearsal at the assigned time. The snow date for the Senior District Festival is Sunday, January 111. CONCERT TICKETS During the lunch break of the Friday Rehearsal, students may purchase tickets at a cost of $10.00 each. Any remaining tickets will be sold on a first come first serve basis at the door on Saturday at noon. Concert Schedule: 1:30 Jazz Band and Choir 3:00 Concert Band and Orchestra CANCELLATIONS DUE TO STORM If the rehearsal and concert on January 10 should be cancelled due to inclement weather, the snow date is scheduled for Sunday, January 11 at the same times.
