ACADEMIC PROCEDURES Office Space To request a campus office please visit our administrative desk on the first floor (Suite 100) and the staff will assign an office and issue a key for your use while on site. Please sign the office log so that any phone calls or students can be routed directly to the office. At the end of your stay please return the office key to the service desk. Faculty offices are available during daily hours of operation and are given out on a first come first serve basis. Class Cancellation If it is necessary to cancel a class, please contact your department so that students will be notified. Please contact the O Hare Campus as well so that we can post signs for any arriving students. Exams (Make-Up) Please stop at our main Service Desk on first floor and pick up an exam form. Complete form with all instructions pertaining to the exam and please indicate where the exam should be sent upon completion. Exam Proctor In the event you are unable to attend class on an exam day and need a proctor for the exam, please send an email to both the Campus Coordinator and Office Administrator to assist you in finding a proctor. The majority of rooms are set up in classroom style but there are a few rooms set up in U-shape / pod style (Room 207 U-shaped, Room 209 Pod Style, Rooms 315 & 316 U-shaped). There is also a conference style room Room 314 that seats twenty. Classrooms are assigned based on enrollment statistics. If you require one of the configured rooms please contact the Campus Coordinator directly. Faculty Copy Machine The faculty copy machine is located on the 3rd floor in Room 325 and requires the use of your staff ID or a departmental ID card. If you experience any problems with the card reader or the copier, please ask our front desk staff for assistance. Additionally, the staff will copy and deliver materials to your classroom upon request.. 2
COMPUTER LAB INFORMATION Computer Classroom Room 204 The PC classroom can be reserved for entire class sessions or individual class dates. To reserve the computer lab please contact Nadine Przychodni, Campus Coordinator directly at nprzycho@depaul.edu. Software in Labs or Classrooms The university provides specific software in both the computer lab and classrooms. Please use the following web address to see what is offered throughout the university. http://is.depaul.edu/computers/software/index.asp If a specific software is not listed, please contact either the Technology Contact Center (TCC) at 312.362.8765 or email Ethan Vasilko, Software Consultant @ evasilko@depaul.edu. Either the Technology Contact Center or Ethan will help you determine if DePaul has a license for the software, or if not, how to obtain a license per DePaul s Software Licensing Policy FACILITY INFORMATION Mail Shuttle Service A delivery intercampus shuttle service is available Monday through. To use the shuttle service, please label all envelopes and boxes with a name and destination and leave the material with the staff at the Administrative Desk on the first floor (Suite 100). Any department mail received for a faculty member will be placed directly in the classroom that you are scheduled to teach in during the quarter. Parking Parking is free with over 400 spaces surrounding the campus. For your convenience you can get a parking tag by stopping at our administrative desk on first floor (Suite 100). The tag will benefit the onsite security in locating you should you leave car lights on, etc. Public Transportation CTA Blue Line from Chicago: Exit at Cumberland Avenue. On second level follow sign to South Bridge over expressway. Take stairs down to walkway and proceed west approximately 3 blocks directly to 8770 W. Bryn Mawr building. OTHER INFORMATION Coffee Stop by the administrative desk on the first floor (Suite 100) to get a fresh brewed cup of coffee. Convenience Store There is a small convenience store located in the building directly next to us (8750 Bryn Mawr). You can purchase a variety of foods / drinks/ sundry items in there as well. The store is open from 7 AM 4:30 PM Monday through. Faculty / Staff Lounge On the third floor you will find a faculty / staff lounge (Room 331) located near the faculty offices. There is also a kitchen equipped with a refrigerator and microwave right around the corner from the faculty lounge. 3
OTHER INFORMATION Mailbox / Additional Vending US Postal Mailboxes are located on the first floor near the security station outside of our space. You will also find additional vending machines near the mailboxes. Restaurant There is a café restaurant located directly in the building next to us (8750 Bryn Mawr) on the first floor. Michael s on Main is open Monday through from 7 AM 2:30 PM. You can purchase coffee / bagels in the morning or a varied lunch menu at a reasonable price. Security Personnel As you walk into the building you will notice 24 hour security personnel stationed on the first floor near our offices. Feel free to stop and ask them any questions regarding the building / location / transportation / directions, etc. Vending Area There is a vending area on the third floor around the corner from Classroom 314. Pop and snack machines are located in that area. Campus Map If you are unsure of the location of any classrooms, faculty offices, or lounge areas please refer to the map on the next page.
