I have big shoes to fill. Commander Lynch did an outstanding job and it was an honor to stand with him as we traveled throughout New England, and points beyond. From a very rocky start at our National Convention in Reno, where he suffered a heart attack, he demonstrated what resolve and a can do attitude can accomplish. I want to have a year as successful as my predecessor. I will ask this though. Just a little harder push, a little extra effort, and an earlier start on working membership. And remember, it does no good to recruit new members if they go out the back door and we don t retain them. Mentor the new member.

Call them. Ask them how are they doing. Offer them a ride to the Post Meeting. GET THEM INVOLVED. Let s make this Department 100% again. We CAN do it. Last, but not least, the Ladies Auxiliary and the Men s Auxiliary are an important part of the Department. Without them, are goals will be harder to reach. We are a family, and working together, we can accomplish fantastic things. Let s help each other to 100%. Until next time, I am Committed to serving our Nations Heroe s Jim Golden Commander 6)CLARIFICATION: For purposes of clarification, we do not operate as a men s organization or a ladies organization, but as the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States and its Ladies Auxiliary. 7) REQUEST FOR DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE: Request for a Department Representative for a special event, must be submitted in writing to the Department Adjutant, PO Box 6025, East Rochester, NH 03868-6025 or e-mail: stateheadquarters@nh.vfwwebmail.com 8) JOINT STATE OUTING 2013: The Annual Joint State Outing will be in Littleton at the Post Home July 6, 2013.
