Upcoming events Autumn Seminar 2012 in Zagreb: The application period will start on July 9 th. Annual Conference 2013 in Leuven: Pieter reads out information about the current state of the preparations for the event. Autumn Seminar 2013 and New Year's Seminar 2013 14: No candidates yet. Trieste Koper recently organized a regional seminar. The section is interested in organizing a new seminar, but the financial situation is troublesome. More info will follow. Thessaloniki is also interested in organizing something but is also short on cash. 2

8. Cooperation with other organizations ISHA will be represented at the UNIMED (Unions of the Universities of the Mediterranean) Conference in Istanbul, July 14 th 20 th,, hopefully attracting interest and new sections e.g. in Spain. Sven will attend the Right to Research Coalition General Assembly in Budapest, July 19 th 21 st. This organization is advocating open access. The information gathered during this meeting will be passed on to the sections, so that they can decide if ISHA should take an active stance within the coalition. IFISO (Informal Forum of International Student Organizations) Meeting, Sofia, mid October: Meeting of many organizations like ISHA, very helpful for contacts and sharing good practice. Sven will attend. EUROCLIO and CLIOH+: ISHA might be represented at the 2013 Annual Conference of EUROCLIO, which will be held at the same time as our Leuven conference. This will be discussed soon. In July, the EU commission will decide if a new CLIOH project will can started in October. If successful, ISHA would be a full member of this project. 9. State of Affairs a) International Board Handover meeting of the outgoing and the new International Board in Groningen, August 10 th 12 th. Official ISHA e mail addresses can be created for the sections, which look better e.g. for requests for grants. Payment of membership fee: It is possible to pay until the end of the Zagreb seminar. After Zagreb, the fee will be 75 Euros. b) Council Valentina Caldari: moving of ISHA This proofs to be more complicated than we had hoped Valentina spoke to people in Switzerland on the phone and they emphasized that it s not a simple procedure and they advised that a lawyer would aid us if we want to do this. This would be a problem of course, paying a lawyer would not be in our budget most probably. We really need to talk about this again during the board weekend. Björn Reynir Halldorson: archives of ISHA He has been very active travelling around, visited Fabian in Zürich and they went to the archives together. Everything about ISHA that s worth keeping in an archive should be kept together in Leuven where the majority is already kept. This is also an issue the old and new officials should discuss. Anastasia Guzanova: Carnival Anastasia had some responses for opportunities to get the carnival included on some websites with scientific publications. Its seems to be possible, just a matter of doing it. Some websites she approached were: 3

1) Scopus 2) Web of Science 3) Springer 4) Journal Seek (http://journalseek.net/) Marjolein Vos: Board of patrons She is still busy with this, more will be clear during the Zagreb GA. c) Carnival Editor Dubravko Aladic, according to the last report everything was going fine and expecting a lot of articles. d) Treasury Committee Lia Hamminga and Tina Stele No report yet e) Webmaster: no news f) Sections and Observers Berlin is very active with 78 members. Organised local events to attract new people. The Summer Seminar is on schedule, they are currently searching for a hostel. A problem is sponsoring but there is hope for university and private sponsors. Extensive field trips are planned. Being ouside will be very important in line with subject Places and Spaces and presentations will be given outside. This also means a restriction in subjects that can be presented. There will be placed for 40 60 people. Thessaloniki is trying to increase the number of its active members. They started an initiative in which students can publicize their work online (in Greek). There's an idea to make links to their works, and those of othe3r sections, on the ISHA website. They also organized some seminars on Greek history. They are looking forward to be able to organize more seminars in the future. Leuven: The organization of the next Annual Conference is on the way, with money being an issue. Also, elections were held and a new team takes over in September. Bucharest: Marina will be the next president. There are 25 active members busy with organising the current seminar. Trieste Koper has organized a regional seminar about the relationship between coastal cities and their hinterland in Koper, in which professors were also involved. This was difficult to organize due to financial problems. The section is now registered as an organization in Koper. Jena is recovering from the hosting this year's Annual Conference and will present a publication in Zagreb. With the beginning of the winter semester, they hope to attract new members. 10. Approval of the minutes of the GA in Jena The approval of the minutes will take place in Zagreb. 4

11. Questions and Closing It was remarked that there should be more weekend seminars, as they are easier to organize and a good way to interest people in joining the local sections, and get new people to join an ISHA activity that might fit their schedules better. It was suggested to promote the possibility of holding weekend seminars to a greater extent in the future. Closing at 16.23. 5
