Attend the New Attendee Breakfast to learn more about the IAIABC and what to expect during this week s conference. Board members and committee chairs will be on hand to answer questions as well. 9:00 am - 4:00 pm IAIABC Foundations of Workers' Compensation Administration: Principles of Workers' Compensation Course This course offers a full day of in-depth instruction and will cover the fundamental public policy principles of workers compensation. Instruction will use jurisdictional examples and case studies to address benefit levels and adequacy, permanent impairment rating and compensation, causation standards, delivery of medical care, and elective vs. compulsory coverage arrangements. Separate registration required. For jurisdictional agency staff only.

9:00 am - 5:00 pm EDI Claims Meeting The Claims Committee will focus on the pending Release 3.1 IRRs. The group will discuss feedback received from Jurisdictions currently transitioning to the new release and evaluate opportunities and or issues raised. The first face to face Release 3.1 training will be offered on Thursday, April 19th. 11:30 am - 1:00 pm Lunch (on your own) 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Dispute Resolution Committee Meeting The Committee will hear a spotlight presentation on the dispute resolution system in Australia and specifically New South Wales. The Committee will continue to prepare for mediation training and programming at Convention and will conduct a roundtable discussion. 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm Medical Issues Committee Meeting The committee with draw upon responses to the opioid solutions database to discuss strategies that jurisdictions are implementing to combat the opioid crisis. They will also engage in a jurisdictional roundtable. 2:30 pm - 2:45 pm Break 4:00 pm - 5:00 pm Board of Directors and Joint Committee Council Meeting The IAIABC Board of Directors meets with committee leaders. 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm Happy Hour

Tuesday, April 17, 2018 6:45 am - 7:30 am Sunrise Yoga 7:30 am - 5:00pm Check-In and Registration 7:30 am - 9:00 am Breakfast 8:00 am - 10:00 am EDI Jurisdictional Forum Jurisdictions will provide attendees with updates on state activities impacting standards and reporting. 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Disability Management and Return to Work Committee Meeting The Committee will provide an update on its new project, "A How-To Guide on Prevention." The Committee will also hold discussions on predictive analytics and how they can help improve outcomes, and what role the Committee can take in supporting an IAIABC claims adjuster training program. 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Regulation Committee Meeting The Committee will hear presentations on misclassification from the business and labor perspectives. Updates will be provided from the subcommittee updating the Self Insurance Regulators' Handbook. The Committee will work to coordinate efforts to work with the NAIC on a resource focusing on the changing nature of work (employees, independent contractors, and workers). The meeting will conclude with a roundtable discussion on issues. 10:00 am - 10:30 am Break 10:00 am - 12:00 pm EDI Medical Provider to Payer (ProPay) Committee Meeting The committee will receive updates from several workgroups which are creating reference documents. An update regarding the impact of a national effort to expand the number of diagnosis codes from 12 to 24 will be provided. The group will also receive a status regarding the federal initiatives for attachments, covered entity and the Affordable Health Care Act which could impact ebilling.

The task group will review the ACORD mapping for Claims Release 3.1. 1:30 pm - 2:45 pm Associate Member Council Meeting The Associate Member Council will discuss upcoming programming about lessons workers' compensation can learn from group health through a series of IAIABC webinars. The AMC will also share and discuss issues of interest to the associate membership, and prepare for the afternoon's Heads of Delegation/Associate Members' Forum. 1:30 pm - 3:00 pm Uninsured Employer Funds: Workshop Uninsured Employers' Funds (UEFs) play an important role in providing benefits to injured workers. This workshop will discuss funding, claims management, and other unique challenges related to UEFs. 2:30 pm - 3:00 pm Break 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm Heads of Delegation and Associate Members' Forum A must-attend for jurisdictional agency staff and those in regulatory affairs as jurisdictions share legislative and regulatory priorities. The meeting also offers an opportunity to ask questions of regulators. 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDI Medical Committee Meeting The committee will receive updates from several workgroups which are creating reference documents. Participants will debate the merits of universal coverage and learn about solutions that cover more of today's workers. 9:00 am - 12:00 pm EDI Systems Committee Meeting 10:15 am - 10:45 am Break 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm Luncheon The Systems Committee will continue to evaluate technical solutions for Claims Release 3.1. An update concerning the review error code references including the clarification of policy number identifier will be provided by the workgroup created last fall. 1:00 pm - 2:30 pm EDI Proof of Coverage Committee Meeting The Proof of Coverage Committee will continue to work on the development of an intermediate online training module. The group will continue to discuss the level of carrier participation and how to stimulate involvement in the future. 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm International Committee Meeting The Committee will hear a spotlight presentation on the Korean workers' compensation system from COMWEL. They will also discuss current partnership opportunities and internationally focused programming for the Convention.

1:00 pm - 5:00 pm Medical Institute Telemedicine is increasingly being applied in workers' compensation. Participate in a simulation of a virtual visit and learn about administrative, legal, and clinical issues that should be addressed. 2:15 pm - 2:45 pm Break 3:00 pm - 5:00 pm EDI Council Meeting The EDI Council will appoint a chair and vice chair. The Claims Steering Committee will provide a status of the Claims Standard Modernization project. The EDI committee chairs will provide a current status of committee activities and outline next steps and priorities. Breakfast will be available in the room. 9:00 am - 10:00 am Research Roundtable Hear several different research organizations share new data and insights or future research plans. 9:00 am - 5:00 pm EDI Claims Release 3.1 Training Get an in-depth understanding of the IAIABC s newest Standard, Claims Release 3.1. The first half of the day will discuss general elements of Claims 3.1, and the second half will split jurisdictions and industry into separate groups for more detailed insights into the Standard. Separate registration required.

10:00 am - 12:00 pm Research and Standards Committee Meeting The Research and Standards Committee will provide an update on its Claims Measures Survey, as well as its new project on the National Conversations/19 Essential Recommendations.
