Operated with the highest of expectations and based on the belief that every child can and will meet them, our two schools serving children in Preschool through Grade 8 - are places of rigor and community. We are dedicated to giving students access to an education rich in academic quality, learning activities, and personal empowerment. TCA was started in 2007 with a deep commitment to the community and call to action led by Jack Connors, Jr., Tom and Mary Shields, John Fish, and other determined-minded individuals who shared Cardinal Seán O Malley s concern for the at-risk children of Brockton. Today, TCA operates two vibrant campuses in the heart of Brockton, giving more than 420 students every year, regardless of financial ability, the same advantages as their suburban peers in reaching their full educational and life potential. THOMAS F. AND MARY J. SHIELDS FOUNDERS AWARD One of Greater Boston s leading Catholic universities, generously provides a full-time nurse practitioner at TCA s Upper Campus at no cost, giving students comprehensive healthcare and wellness services. Collaboration at its finest, the nurse practitioner is also a member of the Regis faculty and in her care for TCA students provides training and learning opportunities for Regis nurse practitioner students who are completing their practicums at TCA. This longtime partnership with TCA fills a critically important role at our school and clearly demonstrates s dedication to improving the health outcomes of children in the Greater Brockton region. TCA is pleased to present the Thomas and Mary Shields Founders Award to, which will be accepted on behalf of the entire college community by President Toni Hayes, Ph.D., R.N. Gala Di LEGACY AWARD Diane Moran A member of the founding staff of TCA, Diane Moran s nine years at the school are a testament to her commitment to the critical role quality, accessible education plays in providing a path for success. Since then, Diane has used her skills and extended her reach far beyond administration, supporting the school community with a wide array of expertise, always with a smile on her face. Diane is a woman of deep faith, who shares her countless talents throughout Brockton s Catholic community and beyond. Both schools focus on consistency, respect, and structure so teachers are 100% focused on teaching and students 100% focused on learning. Character is Paramount A central focus at TCA is to foster in children strong character that develops into adults who are responsible citizens. Students in all grades start each day reciting our mission statement, which emphasizes our CARITAS core values of Commitment, Academic Excellence, Responsibility, Inclusion, Trust, Access, and Social Justice. Building a Lifetime of Success Mastery of foundational skills in literacy and mathematics is the cornerstone of our academic program. Religion and the Arts are blended with STEM subjects to create a unique STREAM curriculum that develops 21 st century skills. Longer, uninterrupted blocks of instruction for all and attention for struggling readers leverage early success into greater academic achievement in the future. Our Goal is 100% College Attendance In a community where many think college is a milestone few achieve, TCA inspires all students to believe college attendance is a realistic and attainable goal. Equipping all with the skills and aspirations needed to succeed in high school and college, TCA is dedicated to helping students diminish any barriers to college that they may face. Trinity Catholic pays close attention to the academic needs of your child as an individual.
