ABOUT THE ANNUAL MEDICAL SYMPOSIUM For the past six years, Saint Francis Healthcare has provided a half-day Medical Symposium for healthcare professionals, such as physicians, nurses, social workers, chaplains, nutritionists and others serving the community in healthcare settings. The Medical Symposia are designed to: enhance awareness of health-related topics that impact our community, provide valuable education that can be applied in professional settings, and inspire meaningful discussion that can positively impact the communities we serve. Saint Francis Healthcare is extending an invitation to organizations interested in sponsoring the 2017 Medical Symposium, Transforming Community Health: Addressing Social Determinants of Health, which will be held at the Chase Center on the Wilmington Riverfront, Saturday, November 4, 2017 from 7:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Session topics will include community violence, crime and social disorder; the culture of health; access to housing; and a panel discussion on healthcare delivery to address social determinants of health.
