Spring 2018 Delgado Community College/ Charity School of Nursing Spring 2018 Level II Section Information for spring 2018 ALL SECTIONS ARE TENTATIVE AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE Check your LOLA preferred email account for messages about any changes over the Holiday break. The curriculum plan for the 2nd semester, Level II, includes five courses: NURS125 (Nursing II); NURS 129 (Special Populations I); NURS 127 (Pharmacology II); PSYC 127 (General Psychology); and BIOL 211 (Microbiology). All five must be completed before enrolling in the 3 rd semester nursing courses. Students who enroll concurrently in NURS 125 (Nursing II) and NURS 129 (Special Populations I) must enroll in courses taught by the same faculty team :Such as Nursing Team 1 and Special Pops Team 1 Four teams are planned for spring 2018. Registration for Nursing 125 (Nursing II) is Wednesday, December 12 at 9 am; registration for NURS 129 (Special Populations) and NURS 127 (Pharmacology II) is Wednesday, December 14 at 9 am. Students must register for the section of Pharmacology II that correlates with Nursing II sections as indicated on the Pharmacology Table on page 3. If you are Special Pops only please do not register for sections 305, 306, 310, and 311. Students who have previously registered for a clinical nursing course must register for a different team/faculty member unless given permission to do so by the Level Coordinator. The clinical component of Nursing II is considered the Home Base for enrolled students and students will rotate to the Special Populations I clinical which is generally scheduled for the same days, e.g. Wed/Thursday. Students who register for Nursing II sections 302, 310, 313 & 317 will start their clinical in the Special Populations for the listed dates and rotate to the Nursing II clinical as their Home Base for the remainder of the semester. Students who register in Nursing II sections 303, 308, 312 & 316 please contact me via email (cbrown5@dcc.edu) Friday, December 13 to select a Nursing II clinical section, these sections will be filled on a first email, first serve basis. Use the following tables to register for corresponding sections of the nursing courses. Students who register for a clinical with an instructor who has two clinical groups the same day will have the opportunity to have a morning and an afternoon/evening clinical experience. Dr. Eweni, Ms. Payton are the instructors with two clinical groups. These groups are noted with a double asterisk [**] in the registration grid. Please note that Dr. Eweni s section 318 is a 12hr rotation. All students will be oriented to Level II on Tuesday January 16 at 8:00 am at CSN, in the GYM if it is available. Plan to spend all class & clinical time at CSN 8am-3pm the first week of school (January 16 th -19 th ) even if you have evening or weekend clinical. Plan to wear class casual attire until you receive instructions from your clinical instructor. Sections will be available for students to drop/add until January 17 at 2 pm.
