Entries to be duly certified by the school Principal. 2. Entries must be received by the host school latest by Monday, 22 September 2014 and a softcopy to be forwarded to the respective email ids. 3. Following details given below should be clearly mentioned at the back of the entries : (Competition category, Student s Name and Signature, Class, School Name, Commerce Teacher s Name and Signature, and School Principal s Name and Signature). 4. Please ensure that only one entry per school is invited for each category & entries are sent in a waterproof cover and do not get damaged during transit. 5. Participation Certificates will be given to all the participants. 6. The decision of the judges will be final and binding for all activities 1

Theme : e-newspaper designing 5. Areas : 1. a) Successful entrepreneurs under 20 years b) Interview of a successful leader c) Creativity in business (minimum 02 cases) d) Career options in foreign universities (any one university) e) Service sector advertisement (02 of your choice) f) An article from Editor s desk should be included 2. The newspaper may be self created or illustrated based on the theme. 3. Participants are free to design the newspaper layout. 4. Layout : 4 side of Full Imperial size Cartridge sheet (36 x 24 ) 6. The email id will freeze after the last date. 7. The newspaper must be designed with professionalism to market the product and must not violate copy rights and should be original. 8. Topic : INDIAN RUPEE 5. The logo must be designed with a tagline which should not exceed 15 words. 6. Topics : The Participants can choose any one of the given topics & prepare an animated video presentation. i) Sig Sigma vi) Population An Asset for the Economy ii) Insurance vii) Inflation iii) Stock market viii) Good governance iv) Human Rights Protection in business ix) Global Indian v) Franchising x) Consumer rights 4. The video should preferably be in mp4 or mpg formats. 5. Entries should be sent in a CD (03 copies) by post addressed to DPS Dwarka latest by Monday, 22 September 2014 clearly labeled V@entertainment.animatedvideos Vanijya 2014 on top of the envelop. 6. No. of Entries : One per school 2. Eligibility : Two participant from classes XI/XII 3. Day/Date : Friday, 10 October 2014 General Guidelines Entries should be typed on the link Vanijya 2014 on the DPS Dwarka website : www.dpsdwarka.com A visual will be flashed on the link on Friday, 10 October 2014 at 9:00 a.m. sharp. Based on the visual, the participants will have to solve the problem in hand which is time bound. If the team solves the problem within the time limit, they qualify for the II level. The problem in hand will be from the field of Business, Commerce & Economics. Judgement Criteria : Correctness, Timeliness. Category- II Activities Participation : Delhi Public Schools in & around Delhi are expected to participate. General Instructions for Category II Activities Venue : DPS Dwarka Day & Date : Wednesday, 15 October 2014 Reporting Time : 9.00 a.m. Dispersal : Around 02:00 pm All competitions are open to students of classes XI & XII only. Schools must ensure that a student participates in one activity only. All students must be in their school uniforms unless they are in costume for their respective events. Schools must participate in all events (online & offline) to qualify for the Rolling Trophy. The decision of the judges will be final & binding in all events. Valedictory Ceremony : All participants are expected to attend the Valedictory Function. Prizes / certificates will be given at the Valedictory Ceremony. ACTIVITY - E : QUALITY CIRCLE THE COMMERCE QUIZ 2. No. of Participants: A team of two students 3. Quiz Syllabus : Business, Finance, Management, Current Affairs with focus on Business. 4. Event Format : Preliminary Written Round & Final Round: Wednesday, 15 October 2014. Preliminary Written Round: The first Round comprises a Written Preliminary Quiz which will decide the first five highest scoring teams for the final round. Final Round : The final round will be conducted on stage by the Quiz master. 5. The decision of the Quiz Master would be final and binding for all. ACTIVITY - F: MARKET MANTRA The Stock Game Brief Concept : This event is an effort to introduce the students to stock market, its functioning and how investors react to the changes in the business environment. The event will test the participant s ability to judge the impact of certain news and rumours and anticipate when and which company would perform better than the other on the Trading Floor. 2. No. of Participants: A team of two students 3. Event format: All teams will act as investors. Each team will be given a virtual amount of ` 1,00,000. 5

There will be shares of different companies in which they have a choice to invest. The first three teams with maximum profit will be declared as winners. The activity consists of four rounds. In Round I, Investors will be given a set of news and rumours. They will have to monitor price fluctuations Round II, a set of new stock prices will be provided based on the earlier news and rumours. The same process will continue for all 4 rounds. After this, all the shares would be automatically sold off and the news and rumours of the Round IV will be given. 4. All participants are required to bring their own calculators. Any calculation error like selling more shares than owned or spending more than the capital amount) will lead to disqualification. ACTIVITY G: 24/7 LIVING BRAND In a socialized, democratized media environment, your brand is only relevant if it has something unique to say consistently every single day to become part of a 24/7 living brand. Topic for the event will be allotted after receiving the participation confirmation. 2. No. of Participants : A team of 05 students 3. Time allotted : 03 minutes for Stage Presentation 4. Event format: a) The participants can make use of English & Hindi language for the presentation. b) Use of offensive language is not allowed. c) A Tagline / jingle is a must. d) The teams may use any costume, props, charts, musical instrument, etc. (The host school will not provide any of these) Judgement criteria : Creativity, Innovative Idea, Presentation, Costume & Props. ACTIVITY H: CINEVISTA THE MOVIE MAGIC 2. No. of Participants: A team of two students 3. Time limit : i) 05 minutes for movie clip. ii) 03 minutes for Presentation 4. Event format : a) The movie clip may be in Hindi / English (no documentaries). b) There will be negative marking for exceeding time limit. c) Based on the presentation each team will face two interjections by the judges. 5. a) The participants will have to show a movie clip highlighting social responsibility. b) This will be followed by a presentation. Judgement criteria : Choice of the Movie Clip, Content, Ideas & Relevance. For any queries Ms. Soni Saxena (09871007959) can be contacted. ACTIVITY I : GET INSPIRED T-Shirt DESIGNING 2. No. of Participants: Two students 3. Theme: Students are required to design a T-shirt on any one of the following topics: a) Gandhi and Industries b)gandhi and Commerce c)gandhi and Vocational Education d)gandhi and Agriculture 4. Event format: Students will get 2½ hours to design/paint. Design must not be large than 8.5 x 11. Maximum 4 colours can be used. A caption describing the design is mandatory. The design may incorporate imagery, abstract symbols. The design must be original unpublished work and must not include any third party logos or copy righted material. T-shirt should be of either white or black colour. Participants have to bring their own material.
