STUDENT OF INTEGRITY AWARD Dear Guidance Counselor: Better Business Bureau of the Upstate is proud to announce the 2017 Student of Integrity Awards to recognize high school students who personify high character through leadership, community service, academic achievement, and overall personal integrity. More than 30 years ago, businesses in the Upstate came together to promote high standards of business ethics and conduct, forming the Better Business Bureau of the Upstate. Each year, our BBB recognizes workplace ethics by honoring area companies as part of its annual Business of Integrity Awards. In 2008, the BBB began honoring future members of our business community with the Student of Integrity Awards scholarship program. The scholarships will be awarded at the BBB Integrity Awards Gala in November. Therefore, those submitting entries should be high school juniors during the 2016/17 school year. We ask that you assist us by identifying one Student of Integrity in your junior class and encourage participation by having him or her apply for this exciting award. Completed applications must be postmarked for return to the BBB office by April 28, 2017. Winners will be notified in early September, and invited along with their parents or a school official, to November s BBB Integrity Awards Gala. Applications are distributed to every high school in the 10-county region of Upstate South Carolina and one application per high school will be accepted. Scholarships will be awarded in the amount of $1,500. Enclosed is your application packet which includes an overview of the program, the Student Application and instructions for completion, and a recommendation form to be completed by a school representative. Should you have any questions about the application process, please contact the BBB office at 864-242-5052 or you may email tammy@upstatesc.bbb.org.
