SWCC INSIGNIA This is the only place in the WORLD where you can earn this WARFARE device. The Special Operations Craft (MK V SOC) on step at planing speed; signifies the state-of-theart, high performance SOC utilized in the execution of combat Maritime Special Operations missions worldwide. The Flintlock Pistol is cocked which demonstrates SWCC constant state of readiness for action and represents SWCC ties to Riverine and land warfare. The Cutlass is the traditional enlisted sailor s sidearm of the US Navy. With its cut and thrust blade and large hand guard design, this sword was not ceremonial, it served as a functional weapon of choice during forced board and seizure operations. It is particularly significant in that the SWCC community is comprised entirely of volunteers. The SWCC Senior Insignia is attained after completing the Boat Captain qualification at a Special Boat Team. The Anchor denotes the US Navy as the branch of service. The anchor is an integral part of both the SB rating badge and the Navy Small Craft Insignia. As a SWCC Senior and SWCC Master, you are truly the anchor of your Special Boat Detachment. The SWCC Master Insignia is attained after completing the Patrol Officer qualification at a Special Boat Team. The Three Star Banner introduced is a vital component of the Navy Small Craft Insignia. Since its inception, SWCC have proudly worn the Small Craft Insignia. Incorporating the Three Star Banner from that pin ensures we continue that proud tradition. A SWCC Master will earn his three stars and proudly wear them in gold to honor the men who fought before us, and ensure we never forget where we came from. 12
