Three Pac-12 teams remain undefeated: #17 CALIFORNIA, #8 UCLA, and #4 UTAH. The Utes and Bruins will face off this Friday in Salt Lake City--a contest that will feature the two highest-ranked all-arounders in the nation: Utah s Georgia Dabritz and UCLA s Samantha Peszek. KRISTEN SMYTH... 14th season...ncaa Appearances: 11 UTAH VOTED PRESEASON FAVORITE IN PAC-12 COACHES POLL SAN FRANCISCO In a poll taken by the Conference s eight women s gymnastics coaches, UTAH was voted the preseason favorite to win the 2015 Pac-12 regular season, the Conference announced. The Utes received 46 points with five first-place votes and were also voted sixth in the national preseason coaches poll. UCLA tallied 43 points, receiving the remaining three first-place votes, and was tabbed second. Additionally, the Bruins came in fifth in the national preseason coaches poll. Utah takes over the top spot in the preseason Pac-12 coaches poll from UCLA. The Bruins had dominated the top spot for the last three years. This season, Utah will be looking to repeat as Pac-12 champions after winning the title for the first time in 2014. STANFORD sits in third place with 39 points in the poll, followed by OREGON STATE and CALIFORNIA tied at fourth with 28 points each. Rounding out the poll were ARIZONA, WASHINGTON, and ARIZONA STATE with 17, 13, and 10 points respectively. Seven of eight Pac-12 teams are ranked in the national top 25 preseason poll. Stanford joins UCLA and Utah in the top 10 with a 10th-place ranking, followed closely by 11th-ranked Oregon State. California, Arizona and Washington are ranked 14th, 21st, and 24th respectively. WOMEN S GYMNASTICS ON PAC-12 NETWORKS Pac-12 gymnastics teams will see an unprecedented amount of television coverage this season. In the third year of Pac-12 Networks, 21 women s gymnastics meets will be televised on a national and regional basis. The Pac-12 Networks consists of one national and six regional networks devoted solely to the Pac-12. In addition to the hundreds of live televised Pac-12 sporting events, Pac-12 Networks subscribers will have access to Pac-12 Now, the TV Everywhere platform, which provides access to all Pac-12 Networks programming on any device through their broadband service. UTAH s Georgia Dabritz was named the Gymnast of the Week, STANFORD s Ivana Hong was voted Specialist of the Week, and CALIFORNIA s Toni-Ann Williams was selected as the Freshman/Newcomer of the Week. Utah senior Georgia Dabritz earned Gymnast of the Week honors for her performance in the Utes meet with Southern Utah, Boise State and UC Davis on Jan. 16. Darbitz won the all-around with a 39.60 and won two individual events to lead No. 4 Utah to a quad meet victory. Dabritz s 39.60 narrowly missed her career high of 39.70 set her sophomore season. She also won on the bars with a 9.925 and on the floor with a 9.95, and finished second on the other two events. Dabritz is currently No. 1 in the nation in all-around individual score and the second Ute to earn Pac-12 Gymnast of the Week honors this season. Stanford junior Ivana Hong earned Specialist of the Week honors for her work on the beam and the bars in the Cardinal s meet with Penn and Bridgeport on Jan. 18. Hong scored a collegiate-best 9.950 on bars and a 9.900 on beam to earn a pair of individual event victories. Hong s score on beam was just 0.025 off from her career best, and her score of 9.950 on bars contributed to No. 16 Stanford s beam score of 49.475 the team s highest score in the event since 2007. California freshman Toni-Ann Williams earned Freshman/Newcomer of the Week honors for her performance against San Jose State and University of Wisconsin-La Crosse on Jan. 16, helping the No. 17 Golden Bears move to 7-0 on the year. Williams set new career-highs on vault, bars, and beam and claimed the title on all three events, nearly sweeping the meet. Williams 9.875 on bars won her the title and helped the Bears secure a season-best 49.150 team score on the event. She also earned her third consecutive floor win of the season with a 9.925. In her first try at the all-around, Williams finished third.
