What do the Letter, Print, and Status buttons mean on the transcript? How do I know if I have passed my exam? What does "Inservice" mean? Is a competency exam required for the on-line courses? Why do some of my classes have CEUs and some do not? There are links at the top of the Child Care Training Transcript Page. What do they link to? What is the "Unregister" button? I have earned certificates for child care training that do not appear on my transcript. How do I update my transcript? Why are there more classes listed than I have completed? (Back to Top) The child care training transcript lists all of the department's child care training courses and credentials. Once you have completed a course, there will be a certificate number and date of completion. How is course completion determined? (Back to Top) Child care professionals who completed any of the department's training courses that ended on or before December 31, 2003 received a certificate based on attendance. All child care professionals participating in any of the department's training courses that end on or after January 1, 2004 are required to pass a competency examination before they will be credited with successful completion of the course. How do I register for a competency exam using my transcript? (Back to Top) If you have registered and paid for a training course, you will see "Click here to register for a competency exam!" You can click on this link and register for a competency exam by choosing a location, date, and the exams you want to take. What do the Letter, Print, and Status buttons mean on the transcript? (Back to Top) LETTER This button means that you have a competency exam confirmation letter. The letter includes the date, time, cost and directions for your child care competency exam. PRINT This button means that you have successfully completed a child care training course and can print a certificate. Date: 02/05/2018 Page 1 of 5
STATUS This button means that you have not passed your competency exam. The letter tells you which sections of the course you missed at least one question on the exam. These buttons, when you click on them, will display a PDF file of the document described above. In order to view the documents, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer. This is a free program and is available at http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobat/readstep2.html. If you click on the button but only a white screen is displayed, and you have Adobe Acrobat Reader, please refresh your screen by selecting the refresh button on your internet browser. How do I know if I have passed my exam? (Back to Top) If you have passed a competency exam, you will find a certificate number and the date of the exam next to the course name. The "Introduction to Child Care" is comprised of four modules. All four modules must be completed before a certificate number is issued. What does "In-service" mean? (Back to Top) On-line training courses which are completed, will have inservice and the date of completion on the transcript. This means that you have completed the on-line course but have not taken a competency exam. Is a competency exam required for the on-line courses? (Back to Top) Competency exams are only required for the mandated introductory training. If you are using any of the department's online courses to satisfy the annual in-service requirement, you do NOT have to complete a competency exam. Why do some of my classes have CEUs and some do not? (Back to Top) CEUs are continuing education units, which were issued for training meeting specific standards of trainer qualifications, curriculum design, and a measurement of participant competency. The following chart outlines the CEU availability for the department's training courses.
