CONFERENCE DESCRIPTION Our 20 th Annual Summer Conference on Emergencies & Challenges in Primary Care has been designed to provide physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants and nurses with up-to-date and evidence-based clinical data in Primary Care. The goal of this conference is to increase knowledge and enhance the competence of attendees. Emphasis will be placed on practical application of the evidence-based topics presented. Topics for this year s conference have been selected based on the educational needs determined from the identified professional practice gaps. The gaps were derived from a variety of sources including evaluations and outcomes data from past participants; clinical expert input; Symposia Medicus online survey; and other medical and nursing data. Conference format will include didactic lectures, smaller group breakout and interactive sessions, case studies, and question and answer sessions. An outstanding faculty has been assembled for this conference. Each member was selected based on their individual area of expertise and ability to communicate current, evidence-based, and practical information to participants. CONFERENCE OBJECTIVES As a result of participating in this conference, you should have increased knowledge and enhanced competence to Utilize the new JNC-8 hypertension guidelines and select appropriate therapy for patients Treat common toxic syndromes related to drugs of abuse Evaluate and manage low bone density in premenopausal women Develop management plans to achieve and maintain good asthma control in your patients Identify common dermatologic dilemmas and determine the best management choices ACCREDITATION This educational activity was planned and produced in accordance with the ACCME and ANCC Essentials and Standards relating to continuing medical and nursing education. TERMS & CONDITIONS Hotel Policies Above conference group rates do not include the following (subject to change): - State and local taxes of 13.416% per room, per night - Mandatory porterage (e.g., bellman) charge of $9.00 plus 4.166% tax per person, round trip (18 years and older) Housekeeping gratuity is optional. However, $3.00 per room, per night is suggested. Maximum guestroom occupancy is: - Three adults, or - Three adults and one child (17 years and under), or - Two adults and two children (or three if all under 12 years old) Mandatory additional person charges below (over two people in room) include daily buffet breakfast, tax, and gratuity: - Children ages 5 and under are free - Children ages 6-12 are $18 each, per night - Persons 13 years and older are $28 each, per night Rollaways & Cribs: Rollaway beds and cribs are available at no additional charge, based on availability (subject to change) Check-in time is 3:00pm and check-out time is noon. Credit/Debit Card Policy: Upon check-in, the hotel will require a credit card and will place a hold for any estimated incidental charges during your stay. Please be aware that if you use a debit card instead of a credit card, the funds will be immediately removed from your account (even if you have prepaid your stay). The amount will be based on the average length of your stay, plus an estimate of incidental charges. These funds will not be released back into your account for 10 or more business days after you check-out. Parking: By booking through Symposia Medicus, valet parking is discounted to $10 per night (normally $20 per night). Self-parking is complimentary. Cancellation Policies Conference cancellations must be made in writing to Symposia Medicus and a 10% of paid tuition processing fee will be assessed. No refunds will be made if cancellation is postmarked after June 24, 2015; however, tuition, less 10% processing fee, may be applied to a future Symposia Medicus conference. Per our hotel contract, hotel reservation cancellations must be made in writing to Symposia Medicus and you will receive a full refund if postmarked by May 27, 2015. Between May 28, 2015 and June 24, 2015, one night s deposit is forfeited. After June 24, 2015, no hotel refunds can be made. All cancellations must be made in writing to Symposia Medicus (via email, fax or mail) and postmarked by the dates stated above In the unlikely event of conference cancellation by Symposia Medicus, full tuition and, if reservation was made with Symposia Medicus, hotel deposit refunds will be made.
