the British Heart Foundation work hard along with the Ahmadiyya Muslim Association, be it the youth or the elders, and that s always going to be the case and we will always say how helpful they are in the community. I think the word is flabbergasted, its absolutely amazing we received 3,500 which is really a significant amount of money for a small charity like ourselves its enough for us to support 7 families in London this year, for a whole year. Many thanks to you and everyone involved in the Charity Walk for Peace. I enjoyed the event very much and we are extremely grateful for your support. The Walk was very well organised and well attended, which is a real testament to the hard work put in by everyone in the AMA community. The donation that you gave to Yorkhill Children s Charity was very generous indeed and will make a real and lasting difference to the children who are treated in our hospital. Registered Charity No.1161567 It was lovely to be in the House of Commons and great to hear so many MPs speak and meet representatives from the other charities. 2016 was the 10th year Action for Children have taken part in the Charity Walk for Peace and your community have raised over 32,000 for us over this time. Thank you for being such dedicated supporters over the years, we are honoured to be a friend of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elder Association. ABOUT THE WALK The Charity Walk for Peace is an initiative of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elders Association part of the UK s oldest established Muslim community. Inspired by the tenets of Islam, the Charity Walk for Peace aims to relieve suffering and serve mankind regardless of colour, creed or race. By bringing people together to help others it works to promote peace, engender greater understanding and promote goodwill amongst people from all walks of life. Since its inception in 1985 the walk has been held at different venues across the UK with thousands participating each year. Over 3.5 million has been distributed to over 250 charities. CHARITY CHAMPIONS Our volunteers are vital to the success of our charity work. Dedicated teams of volunteers are our social capital who contribute selflessly with their time, energy and enthusiasm to raise funds. We have more than 150 Charity Champions who collectively raise over 100,000 every year. Our mission is to help society, to support charitable endeavours, to work to secure the common good, to demonstrate loyalty to country and nation, and to defend the dignity of mankind. All organisers are volunteers Every Penny raised goes to charity No administration costs are deducted. Moments from Charity Walk 2016 held in East London OUR INSPIRATION Our community advocates peace, tolerance, love and understanding among followers of different faiths. Our motto is Love for All Hatred for None. Our volunteers work tirelessly to help the most vulnerable people. Serving humanity requires that a person does not rest until he has solved the problems of others and takes the weight of their burdens onto his own shoulders. It requires that a person s heart is consumed by a love for others, whereby he cares not for his own comfort but rather he cares only for the comfort of others. POPPY APPEAL COLLECTION 2016 In 2016, AMEA launched a special Poppy Appeal campaign with the support of M&S Kingston and the Royal Air Force Air Cadets, Kingston upon Thames. The successful event paved the way for a nationwide effort to raise invaluable funds in support of our British armed forces. We believe that we are obliged to be loyal to the country in which we live. More than 200 enthusiastic CWFP volunteers from all over the UK participated in this campaign and collectively raised a massive sum of 104,785. GETTING INVOLVED There are many ways to get involved from volunteering to collect funds at shop fronts; tube stations; and in high streets to helping to organise various charity events throughout the year. All are welcome so drop us a line on our email address and we can start working together to help those in need. BECOMING DONATION BENEFICIARIES As a registered charity, or a small organisation which helps within the community, you may be eligible to become a beneficiary of funds. Please visit our website for more information or contact us directly. Grab your walking gear and come and join thousands of others to walk for HUMANITY. Love for All Hatred for None

A walk in pursuit of Service to Humanity February 2017 Dear Headteacher, RE: School-Support I hope you are well and in good health. We are presenting information with regards to Charity Walk for Peace with a view to provide you with some background knowledge of the work we do here in the UK and abroad. We have raised over 3.5million which has been distributed to over 250 charities including 250,000 to the Queens Diamond Jubilee Fund and over 153,000 to the Poppy Appeal. We work closely with a number of charities who are involved in various projects such blind children, mental health, dementia, disability, homeless and many more. Please visit our website and read more on how we distributed 500,000 in 2016 http://charitywalkforpeace.org/house-commons-amea-charity-reception/ This year we shall be holding our flagship event at Silvertown, London, on Sunday 14 th May 2017, and would welcome you to come and join us to help serve humanity by collecting donations for the most deserving people in our society. This event is complemented with many local and regional functions throughout the year to support the various beneficiaries. As schools play a huge part in moulding the character of our future generation, our community regards the role of schools and teachers at a very high level. In this regard a new addition to our Service to Humanity is to help our local schools in their endeavour to provide a more social interactive and charitable theme to their activities. These could include projects which you deem as helping the less fortunate within the school and other charitable causes where the school may be playing a substantial role. We hope you will get involved and whatever money you raise using our platform (sponsorships; bucket collection; JustGiving etc) we will pass on the exact same amount to you, and shall complement the amount with a further 500 from our own funds. We would very much hope that your school endeavours to take part in the walk with a minimum of 10 students and/or staff members. Please feel free to contact us for any further information. Yours sincerely,
