New Process In Submitting Award Nominations for 2017 Due to the large number of applications Crime Stoppers USA receives from its membership in each of the award categories, we find it necessary to implement the electronic submission of award nominations. Please follow these steps below for each reward nomination a Crime Stoppers program submits to Crime Stoppers USA. Award nominations will be submitted through Google Drive. (If you have a Gmail Account you already have a Google account just use your Gmail login info.) If you or your program currently do not have a Google (Gmail) email or Google + account, please establish that first. If you need to establish a Google account, please visit this link to do so: https://accounts.google.com/signup?hl=en Then, follow the Entry Requirements identified for each award category in which your program is submitting a nomination. The Awards Committee is requesting that submitted information be in the following manner: 1. Any written documents requested in the nomination process be converted to Adobe Acrobat PDF files 2. Videos submitted in either.mpeg-4 or.mov format 3. Any audio files be submitted in either.mp3 or.wav format. 4. Any photos or pictures in.jpeg,.jpg,.png or.gif format. Accumulate all these files for each specific award nomination in one file folder. For example, the written documentation, video files and other requested information for the TV PSA should all be placed in one file folder entitled TV PSA for (name) Crime Stoppers Program. Upon the completion of all award categories the local program is going to submit, follow the entry requirements for each submission and place the documentation in the above referenced file folder. You are now ready to submit your award nominations to Crime Stoppers USA. Sign in to your Google account to start the process. In the upper right-hand corner of the Google page, click on Google Apps. If you hover your mouse over the icons in the upper right-hand corner, look for the icon that has a 3 x 3 set of dots, and this is the Google Apps. Once you click on this icon, it will provide a drop-down menu where you can click on Drive. This will bring up anything you may have in My Drive. If this is the first time you are using My Drive, you won t see any files in this particular area. To get your files onto My Drive, simply right-click your mouse and click on Upload Folder from the pop up menu. This will bring up a file listing from your laptop or desktop and just find and select the file folder that contains the information for this award nomination category. Click on OK once you have selected this file folder and I will upload this information to your Google Drive. Do this for each of the award nomination categories you are submitting to Crime Stoppers USA. All right, you are almost done! All we need to do now is transmit the file folders to Crime Stoppers USA. Select one of the file folders for an award nomination you are going to submit to Crime Stoppers USA by using the right mouse button and click once. From the pop-up menu select Share. This will bring up an easy to fill email sheet in order to share your award nomination. In the Enter names or email addresses insert the email address of sabrams@crimestoppersusa.com. A note section will pop up just below the email address and you may insert a short note describing your program name and award nomination being transmitted. You may want to also insert your own email address which will act as a cc; so you know it was transmitted. Click on Send and your award nomination is on its way! In any event, Crime Stoppers USA will confirm receipt of each award nomination received for your records.
