Christina Ryder Education 06/05, University of California Irvine, Master of Arts in Social Science with a Concentration in Demography and Social Analysis (Course Focus: Social Inequality). 5/03, Vanguard University, Bachelor of Arts in Sociology. Outstanding Student Department of Sociology Award in 2003. 2/00, Ozark Technical Community College, Emergency Medical Technician Basic. Certifications & Trainings 10/14, Certified Sociology Practitioner, Association for Applied and Clinical Sociologists 12/13, The Doula Foundation/DONA, Postpartum Doula Training. 08/13, The Doula Foundation/DONA, Birth Doula Training, Labor Support Professional Employment Positions 01/14-Present, GO LEAD Coordinator, Instructor of Sociology, and Director of the Center for Community Engagement, Missouri State University. After 7 years of teaching adjunct at Missouri State, I accepted a faculty position in January of 2014 which consisted of both teaching as well as the formalization of the Sociology Research Assistant Program (SOC RA) through the Center for Social Science and Public Policy Research (CSSPPR). Myself and Dr. Tim Knapp informally began the program in 2009 which connects community based agencies in need of program evaluation and other research with qualified students who, in collaboration with faculty, conduct the study and students receive compensation for their work from the University (they are part time employees). The SOC RA program, in its two year formalized term, had 12 projects being run through CSSPPR, which has tripled the amount of revenue for the CSSPPR and subsequently provided 8 Dept students with the opportunity to conduct applied research work during their undergraduate student experience, participate in study related press conferences and media, publish study results, and present at various regional academic and professional conferences. As a result of this experience and success, I was asked to assume the Directorship of the University s Center for Community Engagement Office of Community Based Research in the Fall of 2016. I also am currently the GO LEAD Coordinator for the University. The mission of GO LEAD is to help build a highly effective and efficient nonprofit sector in Southwest Missouri by providing quality professional development and networking opportunities to people working for and with nonprofit organizations. The program consists of 2 certificate series (one for beginners in nonprofit management and another for those in executive leadership). Since accepting the position in the Fall of 2013 after the program was dormant for over one year, we have successfully revitalized both certificate series with a new curriculum, have added new workshops and online courses, have incorporated independent series evaluation, have established a community advisory board, and increased University collaboration with other Center s and like programs in the community. 08/09-Present, Adjunct Faculty, Drury University Department of Sociology. 10/07-Present, Founder & CEO, The Grantwell, LLC. The Grantwell, LLC provides nonprofit organizations with grant writing, grant writing training, and grant writing support. As CEO, I manage a team of writers and over the past 10 years participated in numerous workshops across the country on effective grant writing techniques, including two annual workshop series in partnership with the Missouri State University Office of NonCredit programs. The company has also established a paid internship program for students interested in learning the grant writing process at Missouri State University and Drury University. 03/04-01/14, President, Christina Ryder & Associates, LLC Christina Ryder & Associates, LLC (CRA) was established to provide research and grant evaluation assistance to nonprofit organizations. In addition to conducting smaller program or organizational evaluations and assessments, CRA participated and conducted grant evaluations for the United State Department of Agriculture, the United State Department of Health and Human Services, and the United States Department of Education. CRA established a scholarship program for applied social scientists through the Missouri State University Sociology and Anthropology Department in 2008.
