MEMBERSHIP / PARTNERSHIP FAQ What is the deadline for submitting my membership/partnership application form? We request that you submit your application 30 days prior to the first day of the Atelier. Please make sure you submit your application to Brittany Williams in the ICA President s Office at Brittany@salonvisage.com. If I am unsure of when I want to apply to Intercoiffure America/Canada, should I submit my application anyway? Yes; your application will be valid for one calendar year from the date it is received. Once I fill out my application and submit it to the President s office, what do I do? You will be contacted by the New Membership Chairman within 14 days. If you have not been contacted, please call the President s office at 800 422 3007 to check the status of your application. When do I interview with the Membership committee? The Membership Chairman will contact you about setting up your interview time. Typically, your interview will take place at the Atelier closest to your application date. However, all scheduling conflicts are taken into consideration by the Intercoiffure Membership committee.

What do I bring to my interview? Portfolio of your work; pictures of your salon(s); detailed information on your training program; your community outreach program(s) and any charities you support; as well as any publications you, your team or your company have appeared in. Headshot of yourself (this will not be returned). Zip Drive Video (should not exceed 60 seconds) introducing yourself, stating your personal philosophy and explaining what you and your establishment stand for (this will not be returned). Where do I go if I m interviewing? Interview locations will be sent to you prior to your interview, as locations are based on the event property at each Atelier. What time do I arrive before my scheduled interview? We suggest you arrive 10 minutes prior to your scheduled interview time. May I bring my business partner or a guest to my interview? No, but they may attend as a guest for all other events during the Atelier weekend. How long does the interview take? The interview takes approximately thirty minutes.

Should I bring my computer to show any flash drive videos? Not necessary; we will provide a device to play your flash drive. Please feel free to bring it if you would like to share any additional media with us, however. How do I find out if I am accepted, tabled, or declined? You will be informed no later than two weeks following the Atelier at which you interviewed of the decision made by the Board of Directors. If I am tabled, what exactly does that mean? This means your application was not accepted. However, you may certainly apply again in the future, and are encouraged to do so. In many cases, the New Membership Committee and/or the Board of Directors will have feedback that will be beneficial when reapplying. If I am accepted as a member/partner, when do I get pinned? You will be proudly pinned at the next Atelier following your interview. What is involved with the pinning process? You will be presented with your official member or partner pin in front of your peers. Photo opportunities are also available. Details will be sent by the Membership Chairman prior to the event.

Will there be someone to host me on the weekend of my interview? Yes; between the New Membership Committee, the Board of Directors and the New Members Welcoming Committee, we ve got you covered! An ICA member from one of these groups will be your host for the entire weekend. If I am interviewing, do I get a complementary ticket to the Atelier? Yes; you will receive (1) complementary admission ticket that covers Atelier admission only. It does not include admission to any lunches, dinners, galas or parties that require additional ticketing. Do I need to register for the Atelier if I m interviewing? Yes; please register in advance and stay at the Hotel of the Atelier event. How do I register? To register, please contact Brittany Williams at Brittany@salonvisage.com. Am I required to attend the Gala Dinner and Press Luncheon in the Fall? We highly encourage you to attend both of these amazing events in order to have a full ICA experience over the weekend. Not only does this open your eyes to so much of what Intercoiffure has to offer, but it allows the members and partners to get to know you better, and vice versa.

Am I required to attend the Sunday Night Party in the Spring? Again, it is highly encouraged; please register in advance. May I bring additional guests? Yes. Please register all guests through the President s Office. What form of communication does ICA prefer? The ICA office does most communication via email and prefers this method. As a new member or partner, when do I pay my dues and what is the payment schedule? If you interview in the SPRING and are accepted, your dues for that year will be due immediately after acceptance and due again the following year on February 15. Ex:) Interviewed and accepted April 2016: Pay $1250 in April 2016 for 2016 Annual Dues. Pay $1250 again February 15, 2017 for 2017 Annual Dues. If you interview in the FALL and are accepted, your dues for the next year will be due immediately after acceptance and due again February 15 of the year following the year after you interview. Ex: Interviewed and accepted October 2016. Pay $1250 in November 2016 for 2017 Annual Dues. Pay $1250 again February 15, 2018 for 2018 Annual Dues.
