Florence Hinder Bachelor of Civil Engineering Florence s business, Leftovers, seeks to connect businesses with excess food to those who want it. Jacyntha Joseph Michael Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Jacyntha is working on Talk Town, an online, self-advocacy and communication skills game for deaf kids. Maaka Kahukuranui Maaka s idea is to build solar farms and provide cleaner and more affordable energy. Oliver Hunt Master of Engineering Management Oliver s venture seeks to reduce surgical and environmental costs by reprocessing and sterilising suitable surgical equipment. Kara Kennedy PhD, English Kara s idea is to start an empowerment-focused book publishing.

Laura Robinson Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Health Science Laura s venture, Love in Us, is a not-for-profit student volunteering organisation. Damon Ross Bachelor of Computer Science Damon s business, Surety Limited, is a water testing venture - like a fitbit for your aquarium. Ron Park Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting and Finance Ron s business, Korure, sells green lipped mussel oil extract. Rafael Rubin PhD, Mechanical Engineering Rafael s venture seeks to develop an electronic locking and remote management system for multiple lockers in Brazil.

Matthew Ruffell PhD, Computer Science Matthew s business, Dapper Linux, is an exceptionally secure and easy-to-use operating system designed for everyday use. Hamish Simpson Bachelor of Arts in Japanese and Psychology Hamish s idea is a social messaging app to learn a language. Jess Scarsbrook Bachelor of Laws and Bachelor of Arts Jess s social enterprise, Aspirations, is a café where people with intellectual disabilities can gain practical work and life skills for success. Udit Sharma Postgraduate Diploma, Computer Science Udit will provide technical expertise to a number of ventures in the summer startup programme. Craig Stocker Bachelor of Engineering Craig s venture is to create a ceramic device that distills water to beused in developing countries. Teariki Tuono PhD, Education Teariki s social enterprise, Mauri Ora, seeks to create a healthy market in Linwood using a kaupapa Māori education model in business.

Ruby Vanderlaan- Kitto Bachelor of Arts in Classics and Anthropology Ruby s venture is a cultural narrative project on Lyttelton and Māori culture. Lauren Whearty Bachelor of Science Lauren is working on KnowledgeAble, which seeks to deliver student literature reviews and science-mapping to community groups. Logan Williams Master of Business Administration Logan s business, Biome, converts the pest algae, didymo, into high quality fashion materials. Jack Wood Bachelor of Laws Jack s venture, The Dandy Club, is a mens clothing label that is dedicated to using alternative, sustainable materials and reflecting positive, social messaging through design. Emma Woodford Bachelor of Arts in Psychology Emma is working on KnowledgeAble, which seeks to deliver student literature reviews and science-mapping to community groups. Meng Xu PhD, Media and Communications Meng s business, Gateway China!, provides marketing consultancy services to New Zealand SMEs looking to enter the Chinese market.
