YEAR 11 RETREAT IN NEW NORCIA WEDNESDAY, 3 MAY FRIDAY, 5 MAY 2017 (INCLUSIVE) Dear Year 11 Parents/Guardians This year we will be running a three day Year 11 Retreat in New Norcia. The theme of the retreat is Making a Difference (within yourself, to the St Brigid s Community and to the world). The students will have the opportunity to reflect upon what this means to them, and the Retreat will include visits from various guest speakers as well as sessions run by the staff. The Retreat also has a curriculum element with some of the tours the students undertake relating directly to their Religion and Life Course and forming part of an assessment. The specific details of the Camp are as follows: Time: Leave SBC: 8:20am, Wednesday, 3 May 2017 Return to SBC: 2:15pm (approx.), Friday, 5 May 2017 Transport: Cost: Venue: Dress: Lesmurdie Bus Service Included in College fees New Norcia As the students will be visiting the Monastery and other sacred sites in the township of New Norcia, their dress must be conservative at all times. This means they need to wear tops that have sleeves, and if they are wearing shorts, they need to go to their knees. Any student not appropriately dressed will not be able to participate in the activities. Please complete and sign the attached Retreat Medical and Contract/Permission Forms. YEAR 11 RETREAT 2017 - MEDICAL INFORMATION Medical/Medications: Please give accurate details of any current medications or medical conditions staff should be aware of (e.g. ventolin, epipen etc) NOTE: Any medication, including non-prescription or natural medicines, and vitamins/minerals, all need to come in the company packaging, ie: either the tablet bottle or a complete card of medication that clearly details the name of the medication, dose and a visible expiry date. If the medicine is a prescription medicine, it needs to have the prescription adhesive label that clearly displays the student's name, the prescribing doctor & the dose required. If this information is not supplied the medication WILL NOT be administered to your daughter. Any unlabelled medication WILL NOT be administered to your child. This is to ensure that we can fulfill our duty of care towards any child receiving medication. YEAR 11 RETREAT 2017 PERMISSION FORM & PARENT/STUDENT CONTRACT Camp organisers realise the responsibility parents give to them when allowing their daughter to attend a camp or retreat, and therefore endeavour to cover all eventualities. The organisers, like parents, place trust in the student to demonstrate sensible and appropriate behaviour at all times. A Retreat is an extension of school and carries the same rules and restrictions. In addition the venue of the Retreat usually has a set of conditions which must be observed.
