The Pathfinders-Su eala Organization 2018-2019 High School Scholarship Instructions Pathfinders-Su eala Mo Samoa OUR VISION Our vision is founded on the belief that the children & families of Pacific Islander ancestry can be strengthened to better serve themselves and the community at large OUR MISSION As an organization, the Pathfinders-Su eala group strives to encourage & assist Pacific Islander youth in gaining a higher education, to support the needs of Pacific Islanders in the Greater Kansas City Area through community service projects and to instill an understanding of our culture to our youth & the community at large What we offer: For our 1 st place recipient, we award $1,500.00 for the 2018-19 schoolyear. For our runner up recipient, we award $500.00 for the 2018-19 schoolyear. If a recipient drops out during the awarded school year, all remaining unused money will be forfeited and sent back to Pathfinders-Su eala Mo Samoa. These funds are made possible by the organizations commitment to further the education of our youth. We encourage all applicants and parents to come support the efforts of this organization so we may continue this effort in the coming years. Requirements For High School Applicants: 1. Must be graduating from a high school or other approved educational institution located within fifty (50) Mile s from the urban center of Kansas City [64106] 2. To prove your grade point average (GPA), you must request from your school registrar or records clerk a Copy of your official transcript and submit it along with your Application. Your transcript must Show your cumulative weighted grade point average (GPA) stands at a minimum of 2.5 3. Must have ancestry from at least one Pacific Island. 4. Complete the entire application. 5. Provide three (3) letters of recommendation from different person(s) that are not family members. 6. Must be submitted by the deadline date December 31 st, 2017.
