The curse applies t educatrs and supprt staff wrking within an educatin and care setting wh are required t respnd t a first aid emergency, including asthmatic and anaphylactic emergencies. Enrlment Prcess Plicy This plicy/prcedure ensures that First Aid Management and Training Centre prvides apprpriate infrmatin prir t enrlment that allws all ptential students t make an infrmed decisin t study with the RTO. It als ensures a cnsistent enrlment prcess will be implemented fr all dmestic students and that apprpriate recrds will be maintained in all student files. First Aid Management and Training Centre will assess all ptential student enrlment applicatins t ensure they meet the enrlment requirements f the curse and t cnfirm their ability t cmplete the qualificatin. Prcedure The fllwing prcedure explains the prcess that is t be undertaken t enrl a student int a curse f study. Pre-Enrlment infrmatin: Students: Each ptential student will be able t access t a Student Infrmatin Handbk, prir t enrlment t ensure an infrmed decisin can be made t study with First Aid Management and Training Centre. The Student Infrmatin Handbk must cntain infrmatin n: General Infrmatin Enrlment Prcess Unique Student Identifier Equity Cmmitment Privacy Access t Student Recrds Curse Fee Refunds Language, Literacy and Numeracy Student Supprt Services Occupatinal Health and Safety Student Attendance and Behaviur Cmpetency-Based Training and Assessment Prcess Training Evaluatin Recgnitin f Prir Learning (RPL) and Credit Transfer Cmplaints and Appeals Further infrmatin cntact details (RTO and ASQA details)

Student Infrmatin fr the Unique Student Identifier (USI) Frm 1 January 2015 when yu attend a first aid curse (natinally recgnised training) yu will need t have a USI. A USI will give yu access t yur nline USI accunt which will cntain all yur natinally recgnised training recrds and results frm 1 January 2015 nwards. This is a requirement f the Australian Gvernment Department f Industry. First Aid Management & Training Centre is a Registered Training Organisatin and must cmply with Gvernment Legislatin t maintain ur registratin. As f the 1 January 2015 we will be unable t issue yu a Statement f Attainment fr yur curse until yu supply us with yur USI. Hw t get a USI It is free and easy fr yu t create yur wn USI nline. Step 1: Have at least ne and preferably tw frms f ID ready frm the list belw Driver s Licence Medicare Card Australian Passprt Visa (with Nn-Australian Passprt) Birth Certificate (Australian) Certificate Of Registratin By Descent Citizenship Certificate Immi Card IMPORTANT: T make sure all f yur training recrds are kept tgether, the USI will be linked t yur name as it appears n the frm f ID yu use t create the USI. The persnal details entered when yu create a USI must match exactly with thse n yur frm f ID. Step 2: Have yur persnal cntact details ready (e.g. email address, r mbile number, r address) Step 3: Visit the USI website at: usi.gv.au Step 4: Select the Create a USI link and fllw the steps Step 5: Agree t the Terms and Cnditins Step 6: Fllw the instructins t create a USI it shuld nly take a few minutes. Upn cmpletin, the USI will be displayed n the screen. It will als be sent t yur preferred methd f cntact. Step 7: Yu shuld then write dwn the USI and keep it smewhere handy and safe, and advise FAMTC f yur USI s that it can be recrded n yur enrlment frm. Enrlment Enrlment Frm All students must cmplete an enrlment frm t cnfirm their enrlment. The Enrlment Frm shall cntain as a minimum the fllwing infrmatin: Identify the curse r curses in which the student is t be enrlled and any cnditins n his r her enrlment; Unique Student Identifier (USI) Ask all relevant AVETMISS questins List the nature f the guarantee given by the RTO t cmplete the training and/r the assessment nce the student has cmmenced their study Advise the student f his r her bligatin t ntify the registered prvider f a change f address while enrlled in the curse A declaratin that all infrmatin, cnditins, details f the enrlment are understd. Access and Equity First Aid Management & Training Centre will meet the needs f students and the cmmunity thrugh the implementatin f access and equity principles t ensure a learning envirnment that is free frm discriminatin and harassment and that students are treated with respect and in a fair and cnsiderate manner while training with FAMTC. Recrds and Privacy The infrmatin that First Aid Management & Training Centre cllects frm yu is used nly fr the services that we prvide as an educatinal institutin. We cllect, manage, use and disclse persnal infrmatin strictly in accrdance with privacy legislatin. The infrmatin cllected is used fr a variety f purpses including: Student admissin Prvisin f student services Certificatin Archival purpses Mandatry reprting t Gvernment Agencies. Student Recrds All student recrds are available n request frm ur ffice. Replacement certificates are available at a cst f $15.00 which cvers the certificate, pstage and packaging. Please cntact ur ffice if yu require a replacement certificate.

Curse Fee Refunds Curse cancellatin terms and cnditins: N penalty will apply if a student transfers t an alternative curse as lng as 4 days ntice is given and that it is cmpleted within 6 mnths If at least 14 days ntice is given f cancellatin, then funds received will be refunded less an administratin fee f $10.00 If less than 14 days but mre than 4 days ntice is given f cancellatin, then funds received will be refunded less an administratin fee f $25.00 If less than 4 days ntice is given f cancellatin, then the full fee is payable There will be n refund r credit given t students wh d nt advise f their nnattendance In special circumstances we will review the abve terms. Language, Literacy and Numeracy If yu require supprt services such as language, literacy r numeracy assistance r ther supprt services t assist yu in cmpleting yur curse, please cntact ur ffice. If students are having difficulties in cmpleting their curse ur trainers can prvide the fllwing types f learner supprt assistance: Explanatins f parts f the learning that have nt been understd Extra time n practicals and assessments Repeat f curse Repeat assessment after further training We d nt ffer guidance r welfare advice given the length f ur curses and ur expertise, but we will make every attempt t refer the student t the relevant agency r expert.

Cmpetency Based Training and Assessment Cmpetency based training is an apprach t vcatinal educatin and training that fcuses n what a persn can d in the wrkplace rather than n the learning prcess. Cmpetency based training prgrams are made up f units based n standards set by industry and assessments are designed t ensure each student has achieved all the skills and knwledge required t achieve cmpetency. Assessment is the prcess f cllecting evidence and making judgements n whether cmpetency has been achieved. Students may be assessed by ne r mre f the fllwing methds: Observatin Oral questining Scenari/rle play Shrt written answers Multiple chice questins All students, n cmmencement f a curse will be advised f ur training and assessment strategy fr the curse.

Training Evaluatin First Aid Management & Training Centre is cmmitted t prviding a quality service with a fcus n cntinuus imprvement. We value feedback, whether suggestins fr imprvements, cmplaints r a cmpliment n the training prvided frm students, staff and trainers and ur business clients. Feedback can be prvided by: Student evaluatin frms Phne Email Via ur trainers Yur feedback will assist in evaluating ur curses and making imprvements if necessary t future curses. Recgnitin f Prir Learning and Credit Transfer Recgnitin f Prir Learning and Credit Transfer is nt applicable as we nly run shrt curses. Cmplaints and Appeals Plicy This plicy/prcedure supprts the RTO t prvide a prcess fr cmplaints and appeals t be heard and actined. All cmplaints and appeals received by First Aid Management and Training Centre will be viewed as an pprtunity fr imprvement. Despite all effrts f First Aid Management and Training Centre t prvide satisfactry services t its students, cmplaints may ccasinally arise that require frmal reslutin. The fllwing prcedures prvide students the pprtunity t have any issues relating t a substantiated cmplaint r appeal reslved and reslutins reached that attempt t satisfy all parties invlved. This cmplaints and appeals prcess will be at n cst t the student (unless referred t a third party; see prcedure fr mre details). Prcedure The cmplaints and appeals plicy and prcedure and applicable frm is made available t all students and ptential students by directly cntacting the RTO, thrugh the RTO s website, and within the student infrmatin handbk. General Cmplaints Where pssible all nn-frmal attempts shall be made t reslve the issue. This may include advice, discussins, and general mediatin in relatin t the issue and the student s issue. Any staff member can be invlved in this infrmal prcess t reslve issues but nce a student has placed a frmal cmplaint / appeal the fllwing prcedures must be fllwed:

Any student, ptential student, r third party may submit a frmal cmplaint t First Aid Management and Training Centre with the reasnable expectatin that all cmplaints will be treated with integrity and privacy. There is n cst fr accessing the internal cmplaints and appeals prcess. Cmplainants have the right t access advice and supprt frm independent external agencies / persns at any pint f the cmplaint and appeals prcess. Use f external services will be at the cmplainant s csts unless authrised by the Directr. Any persn wishing t submit a frmal cmplaint r appeal can d s by cmpleting the Cmplaints and Appeals Frm and state their case prviding as many details as pssible. This frm can be gained by cntacting Student Administratin at the RTO, r thrugh the RTO website. All frmally submitted cmplaints r appeals are submitted t Directr. Cmplaints are t include the fllwing infrmatin: Submissin date f cmplaint Name f cmplainant; Nature f cmplaint ; Date f the event which lead t the cmplaint Attachments (if applicable) Once a frmal cmplaint is received it is t be entered int the Cmplaints and Appeals Register which is mnitred by the Directr regularly. The infrmatin t be cntained and updated within the register is as fllws: Submissin date f cmplaint Name f cmplainant Descriptin f cmplaint / appeal Determined Reslutin Date f Reslutin A student may be assisted r accmpanied by a supprt persn regardless f the nature f the issue r cmplaint thrughut the prcess at all times. The Directr will make a decisin n the cmplaint within 10 wrking days and keep the cmplainant infrmed f any decisins r utcmes cncluded, r prcesses in place t deal with the cmplaint. Once a decisin has been reached the directr will infrm all parties invlved f the decisin in writing. Within the ntificatin f the utcme f the frmal cmplaint the students shall als be ntified that they have the right f appeal. T appeal a decisin the RTO must receive, in writing, grunds f the appeal. The Directr will ensure that the RTO acts immediately n any substantiated cmplaint. If the internal r any external cmplaint handling r appeal prcess results in a decisin that supprts the

student, the registered prvider must immediately implement any decisin and/r crrective and preventative actin required and advise the student f the utcme. Cpies f all dcumentatin, utcmes and further actin required will be placed int the Cmplaints and Appeals Register by the Directr and n the students file. Appealing a Decisin All students have the right t appeal decisins made by First Aid Management and Training Centre where reasnable grunds can be established. The areas in which a student may appeal a decisin made by First Aid Management and Training Centre may include: Assessments cnducted Or any ther cnclusin / decisin that is made after a cmplaint has been dealt with by First Aid Management and Training Centre in the first instance. T activate the appeals prcess the student is t cmplete a Cmplaints and Appeals Frm which is t include a summary f the grunds the appeal is based upn. The reasn the student feels the decisin is unfair is t be clearly explained The Directr shall then rganise a meeting with all parties invlved in the matter and attempt t seek reslutin where apprpriate. The prcess fr all frmally ldged appeals will begin within 10 wrking days f the appeal being ldged. The Directr shall ensure that First Aid Management and Training Centre acts n any substantiated appeal. required t ntify First Aid Management and Training Centre if they wish t prceed with the external appeals prcess. Assessment appeals Where a student wishes t appeal an assessment they are required t ntify their assessr in the first instance. Where apprpriate the assessr may decide t re-assess the student t ensure a fair and equitable decisin is gained. The assessr shall cmplete a written reprt regarding the reassessment utlining the reasns why assessment was r was nt granted. If this is still nt t the student s satisfactin, the student shall frmally ldge an appeal by submitting a written letter utlining their reasns fr the appeal. They shall ldge this with the Directr and the appeal shall be entered int the Cmplaints and Appeals Register. The Directr shall be ntified and shall seek details frm the trainer invlved and any ther relevant parties. A decisin shall be made regarding the appeal either indicating the assessment decisin stands r details f a pssible re-assessment by a third party. The third party shall be anther assessr appinted by First Aid Management and Training Centre. The student shall be ntified in writing f the utcme with reasns fr the decisin, and the Cmplaints and Appeals Register updated. The student shall als be prvided the ptin f activating the external appeals prcess if they are nt satisfied with the utcme. The student is required t ntify First Aid Management and Training Centre if they wish t prceed with the external appeals prcess External Appeals If nt satisfied with the decisin in stage 2, the cmplainant may request that the matter be further reviewed by an external dispute reslutin prcess, by the bdy appinted by First Aid Management and Training Centre fr that purpse. Further infrmatin If a client (student r ther client) is still dissatisfied with the decisin f the RTO, they may wish t seek legal advice r place a cmplaint abut the RTO t ASQA directly (Please be aware that ASQA des nt act in a mediatin capacity).
