From the Rector It is beyond good to be home to our wonderful community, and to be reconnecting with all of you. As I write this, we have as a parish already heard our first two Season of Gratitude preachers, Mike Bechthold and Kara Ramirez. Both of them moved and inspired me, and I share their appreciation for the wide welcome and warm embrace of this church. I so look forward to hearing our third preacher, longtime parishioner Andy Pollard, who will be joined by his daughter, Jan Askins. What a wealth of voices and servants we enjoy in this place! I had a wonderful Sabbatical, and have returned refreshed and ready to take up again our common ministry. I feel more deeply committed than ever to create and to carry out together the work to which we all are called as a parish. With renewed energy and inspiration gained in my time away, I am taking a thoughtful and thorough look at the ministries of Saint Mark s, and I invite all our best efforts toward strengthening our current offerings and imagining new ones. With the support and leadership of our laity, our staff and our Vestry, we are poised to become an even more beautiful version of the parish our lay preachers have described to us. Our Consecration Sunday this year coincides with our celebration of the feast of All Saints. On the morning we make our financial pledge for the year ahead, we will be surrounded and supported by a great cloud of witnesses whose generous lives and love have made us who we are. As we remember and honor them, we will be blessed to welcome into our pulpit Susan Burton, a modern-day saint whose life and work is a beautiful expression of what it means to live generously (www.anewwayoflife.org). I look forward to this year together. Know that I pledge to do all I can to serve and support our parish community and all those we seek to know, love and serve. I am so glad to be on the journey of faith at Saint Mark s with you. Faithfully, Pastor Carri+ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Thank you!
