Interested Governments and organizations were invited to submit their nominations by 15 April 2008. 2 The nominations received, by the deadline set, in response to that invitation are listed in the annex to this document. 3 In accordance with the Guidelines for the Award (see annex 1 to Circular letter No.2837), the nominations will, in the first instance, be scrutinized by an Assessment Panel of experts chaired by the Secretary-General, who will, thereafter, submit their recommendations to a Panel of Judges, chaired by the Council Chairman, who will then decide on the winner of the Award. For reasons of economy, this document is printed in a limited number. Delegates are kindly asked to bring their copies to meetings and not to request additional copies.
