Tournament of Roses 101 The Tournament of Roses is a volunteer organization that annually hosts the following: Rose Parade Rose Bowl Game A variety of associated events There is no such event as a Rose Bowl Parade
Cost Trip cost $2,500 What is included in the price? Airfare: Round trip charter & fuel surcharge Lodging: Long Beach Marriott; 4 students/room Entertainment: Entrance fee to all events Food: All food except 2 lunches Transportation: Charter buses to all activities Apparel: T-shirt / jacket / commemorative pin All Students pay full fee, even if travelling back separately

Trip Guidelines All students pay full fee: Charter fare based on round trip airfare All students must fly with the band to Pasadena No student can be checked out during the trip Not for dinner with grandma, family, etc. Visitors to students at hotel: Only during visitors hours Students may be checked out after parade and take different route home with family; there will be no discount Get in shape! Parade is 6 miles with instruments (no bathroom break) Friends & Family will join up with students for some events

Chaperone Selection About 25-30 chaperones will be selected (District: 1 per 10 students) Application required with background checks Basis of chaperone selection Male/female ratio, skills, experience, service to band, attitude, etc. Many qualified chaperones will not be selected This is a very significant commitment; be careful what you ask for! Chaperone cost will be reduced from full student fare Chaperone Job Description: Must be patient, even tempered, work well with high school students, willing to work long hours with limited sleep, no pay, and no alcohol, even on New Years Eve!!
