INTRODUCTION Tehmi Grant Institute of nursing education popularly known as Ruby Hall Clinic s College of Nursing established in the year 1999 to offer Diploma Programs, was dream a project of our former Chairman and Managing Trustee, Honorable Late Dr. K. B. Grant and his beloved wife Late Mrs. Tehmi Grant. It was their dedication, devotion, determination and hard work that helped to make this an institute of high repute & in 2004 to get upgraded to offer a degree program affiliated to Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. The Institute is located in a single 7-storied spacious building adjacent to Ruby Hall Clinic. It is located in a prime area of PUNE city, ½ km from the railway station and the bus stand, and 4 kms from the Airport. It is self-sufficient in all aspects with Full-fledged physical facilities as per Apex body norms. We have in house simulation laboratories, computer and internet facilities, a spacious well equipped library with sufficient reference books, national and international journals. Students also have an access to the central library located in the parent hospital. Excellent clinical facilities in parent hospital adjacent to the Institute and modern hostel facilities are our strength. PARENT HOSPITAL Ruby Hall Clinic had a humble beginning in the year 1959, with a two-bedded nursing home, started by the Honorable Dr. K. B. Grant. Today after 50 years, it has grown like a mammoth tree, giving a feeling of diverse experience through advanced technology and education. Ruby Hall Clinic is an ultramodern state-of-the art superspeciality hospital with a 550 bed capacity. It occupies a unique and prominent place on the INTERNATIONAL map among medical institutions. The hospital is accredited by NABH recognized by National Board of Examination, College of Physician and Surgeon, Mumbai and other National and International Universities, to train Doctors, Nurses and other Health Care Providers. MEDIUM OF INSTRUCTION English is the medium of instruction for the Course and the Examination. ADMISSION REQUIREMENT BASIC B.Sc. Nursing The minimum age for admission is 17yrs on or before 31 st December of the year of admission. The minimum educational requirement is Higher Secondary School Certificate Examination (12 years Course) o OR Senior School Certificate Examination (10 + 2), Pre-Degree Examination (10+2) o OR An Equivalent of 12 yrs schooling from a recognized board or university With Science (Physics, Chemistry, Biology) and English [with minimum of 45% (Open) and 40 % (Reserved Category)] Candidate must be physically and mentally fit for admission. As per the instituition s policy the Candidate has to undergo medical fitness before being admitted Only female candidates are admitted. Confirmation of admission is subject to issue of eligibility to the course from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik. ENTRANCE / SELECTION TEST: Selection of the candidates is based on the entrance examination held by competent authority - AMUPMDC, MHTCET. Fifteen percent seats are reserved for NRI and /or Open candidates. DURATION Duration of the course is four academic years including internship. VACATION AND HOLIDAYS As prescribed by the University and Institution. FEES As prescribed by Shikshan Shulk Samiti Norms and Management Policy

ELIGIBILITY FOR APPEARING FOR UNIVERSITY EXAMINATION A candidate must have minimum of 80% attendance in THEORY for appearing for University Examination (irrespective of the kind of absence). A candidate must have 100% attendance in all practical areas before award of Degree. STANDARD OF PASSING Minimum pass marks is 50% in each of the Theory and Practical. Twenty-five percentage of the marks of Theory and 50% of the marks of Practical are reserved for the Year s work (internal assessment) If a candidate fails in either practical or theory paper, and she will have to reappear for both theory and practical. Admission Requirement M.Sc Nursing The minimum educational requirement is passing of B.Sc. Nursing/ B.Sc. Hons. Nursing/Post basic B.Sc Nursing with minimum of 55% aggregate marks (5% relaxation of marks for reserve category candidate). The candidate should have undergone the degree course in an institution recognized by the Indian Nursing Council. The candidate should be a registered Nurse Midwife, with any State Nursing Council. Minimum of one year work experience after Basic B.Sc. Nursing, and prior or after Post Basic B.Sc. Nursing. Candidate must medically fit. As per the university policy the candidate has to undergo medical fitness before being admitted Only Female candidates are admitted. Confirmation of admission is subject to issue of eligibility to the course from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, Nashik.

Maximum Number of attempts per subject is three, inclusive of first attempt. The maximum period for the successful completion of the course should not exceed four academic years. WITHDRAWAL AND DISMISSAL If candidate decides to withdraw voluntarily or intends to take transfer elsewhere during training period, she will have to pay entire course fee of the said course before leaving the institute. The institute reserves the right to terminate the student whose work and/or conduct is not found satisfactory during the period of the said course. FACILITIES Classroom: Separate spacious classroom, equipped with required teaching-aids and comfortable seating arrangement for each individual batch are available. Library:

The Institute has a spacious well equipped college library having text & reference books, national & international journals and periodicals, with INTERNET facility. Also students are allowed to use the facilities of the Central Library located in parent hospital. Laboratories: Simulation learning is the most important trend in nursing education today. The institute is dedicated to provide the best hands-on learning experiences to prepare students to become 21 st century nursing practitioners. The laboratories are set as per apex body norms. CLINICAL FACILITIES Hands on clinical experience is provided in Ruby Hall Clinic, our parent Ultramodern state of the art 550-bedded multispeciality hospital. To provide comprehensive clinical experience, students are posted to the following affiliated hospitals as and when necessary. - Primary Health Centre, Urban Health Centre & NGO s for Community Health Nursing Clinical experience. - Regional and National Institute for Psychiatric Nursing Clinical experience. - Government and Municipal Corporation Hospitals to provide specific clinical experience such as in Maternity and Child Health Nursing. Community Extension Activities: To facilitate the social development of the student, SNA and NSS units of the institute regularly conduct many activities to establish proactive interface between community, students, and faculty members so that they develop community/social orientation in their personal and professional practices by enhancing interactive, communicative and counselling skills. Following community orientation and extension activities are conducted: - Community Development Social Work activities Health & Hygiene awareness programs Mother & Child Health Adolescent Education Information Education and Communication Health Check-up Camps in association with our parent hospital. WELFARE SUPPORT AMENITIES Hostel: The lodging and boarding facilities are provided within the campus. The accommodation is sharing type. Co-curricular activities:- The institute has created an atmosphere for all round development of an individual. The institute has excellent facilities and faculty. Student are encouraged to participate in inter collegiate as well as inter university cocurricular activities, other than routine activities. Students are also encouraged to organize competitions such as elocution, panel discussion, symposia, workshops and conferences. Important national and international days are observed in the institute and different activities are organized to mark the importance of these days. Educational and recreational tours are arranged each academic year. The students are provided with facilities for indoor and outdoor sports. Transport: Institute has its own transport facility to transport the students to and fro to the clinical facility. Uniform: As prescribed by the management and made available on payment of prescribed fee. However no student is allowed to buy uniform on her own. Discipline: For smooth induction of fresher, stringent anti-ragging measures and self regulating discipline measures are in-built into the system and implemented. A high level discipline and anti-ragging committee shoulders this responsibility in the institute and hostel as well. To ensure discipline, the management makes all positive and constructive efforts. ANTI-RAGGING MEASURES ANTI-RAGGING GUIDELINES ARE STRICTLY IMPLEMENTED IN THE INSTITUTE AND HOSTEL PREMISES. THE HIGH-LEVEL DISCIPLINE AND ANTI-RAGGING COMMITTEE KEEPS A CONTINUOUS WATCH AND VIGIL OVER RAGGING SO AS TO PREVENT IT S HATCHING OF CONSPIRACY AND OCCURRENCE.
