Overview This course will provide evaluation and critique of current and future standards of care in the treatment of the cardiovascular patient with respect to medical management and best practice guidelines for the primary care provider. It continues to focus on the new developments in cardiovascular imaging, appropriateness, and strategies to reduce patient readmission. Each session will include a panel discussion and case studies. Objectives At the conclusion of the program, attendees should be able to: > Understand the risk factors, evaluation, and treatment of sleep apnea > Understand the appropriate use of invasive coronary procedures related to STEMI and the management of coronary artery disease > Identify the appropriate use and guidelines associated with non-invasive cardiovascular imaging > Understand the evaluation and treatment of peripheral vascular disease > Identify treatments associated with women s heart health Who Should Attend This course is designed for the primary care providers, cardiologists, midlevel providers, registered nurses, and other interested health care professionals. Continuing Education Credit The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education to provide continuing medical education for physicians. The University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine designates this live activity for a maximum of 6.75 AMA PRA Category 1 Credit(s). Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
