Services to Employers Recruitment Services If an employer chooses, we can keep employer details confidential o Collect and screen CVs o Once employer has decided who they wish to interview from the CVs, we will get back to the unsuccessful candidates Dedicated recruitment events Value for money
Services to Employers EURES EURopean Employment Services (EURES) established by the European Commission to assist with the free movement of workers between EEA & Switzerland (EEA is the 28 countries of the EU, plus Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway.) Network of EURES Advisers, based in the Public Employment Services of each Member State. South East EURES Adviser: Edward Kavanagh
Services to Employers EURES EURES will provide you with the means to fill hard to fill vacancies, for example: o Jobs where mother tongue foreign language is required o Highly technical jobs EURES Advisers co-operate with each country to help their local employers fill difficult vacancies o Identify Jobseekers o Collect CVs (if requested by employer) o Arrange interview facilities in the country that the employer is looking for a particular skill
Services to Employers EURES EURES organises national, regional and local job fairs for Irish employers o Employment Fair in Wexford Opera House in April 2012 (partnership between DSP, EURES & Wexford Chamber of Commerce) o Hope to run an Employment Fair in Waterford in 2 nd Quarter of 2014 Attending jobs and advice fairs in other Member States
Services to Employers EURES Advise Irish Employers on wage/salary expectations, cultural issues, labour surpluses, shortages Some Irish vacancies on EURES portal: Language, IT, Medical, Logistics, Medical Hotel & Catering Value for Money EURES website o www.eures.europa.eu o 1,968,110 job vacancies (as of 18 th November 2013) o Over 1,226 901 CVs available on website (as of 18 th November 2013) o Employers can register for a free EURES Account
Employment Experience Schemes: JobBridge JobBridge National Internship Scheme o Employer is referred to as a Host Organisation o Internship with a company can be for a 6 or 9 month period o Keep those on live register close to the labour market o Allows Host Organisations to identify a pool of talent for future job vacancies o Allows Host Organisations to access new talent
JobBridge Eligibility criteria for Host Organisation o Open to organisations in the private, public, community & voluntary sector Company must be a legal entity or charity recognised by the Revenue Commissioners Have a minimum of one full time employee who is employed for 30 hours or more a week o Host Organisation must not have a job vacancy in the area they are taking the intern on. Internship must not displace a current worker. o Company must have employers liability insurance in place o Be compliant with legal requirement
JobBridge Once an intern meets the eligibility criteria to take part on JobBridge, they will get a 50 allowance (from DSP) each week on top of their social welfare allowance Number of interns depends on the size of the organisation 1 to 10 employees One Intern 11 to 20 employees Three Interns 21 to 30 employees Four Interns 30+ - 20% of workforce up to a maximum of 200 internships
JobBridge Monitoring takes place on a random basis Changes to JobBridge Intern can now do up to a maximum of 18 months on JobBridge However, maximum amount of time with one company is 9 months If intern secures employment with the host organisation or another organisation then the company may recruit an intern for the position again. Otherwise there must be a 6 months cooling off period While on an internship interns can commence casual employment without affecting their entitlements provided that it is not with the host organisation (i.e. not with the same employer) and it does not interfere with their internship.
JobBridge Details as of 14 th November 2013 6,321 currently on JobBridge Approx. 209 in Waterford 23,235 have started JobBridge since July 2011 Approx. 791 in Waterford Independent evaluation of JobBridge has been very positive (Indecon Report) www.jobbridge.ie
Services to Employers Financial Incentives Jobs Plus Replacement Incentive for Employer Job Incentive Scheme & Revenue Job Assist Is a much simpler scheme Launched in July 2013 Financial Incentive available: o Up to 10,000 subsidy paid to an employer on a monthly basis over two years who takes on someone who is over 2 years on the live register o Up to 7,500 subsidy paid to an employer on a monthly basis over two years who takes on someone who is between one and two years on the live register
Jobs Plus Eligibility o Open to all employers in the private (including commercial semi state), community, not-for-profit and voluntary sectors o Employer must be compliant with Irish tax and employment law o For position to be eligible for Jobs Plus, it must Be for at least 30 hours a week Be for at least four days a week Employee must be on payroll and subject to PAYE & PRSI Must NOT displace a current employee Employers will be requested when applying for Jobs Plus o Give permission to the Department of Social Protection to check the company status with the Revenue Commissioners and obtain a Tax Clearance Certificate o Give details of workforce size prior to application for Jobs Plus
Jobs Plus How to apply for Jobs Plus o Log onto www.jobsplus.ie and fill in on line application. Will be notified if approved o Employer can contact Intreo/Employment Services in locating suitable and eligible candidates for the position o Company should advertise the vacancy on Jobs Ireland (www.jobsireland.ie) o Employer should advise successful candidate to log onto www.jobsplus.ie to determine if they are eligible for the scheme o Eligible candidates will receive a JP1 form from the department. This will indicate as to how much the employer may receive over the two years from the department for recruiting the candidate. o Employer sign and return the form to the Department of Social Protection o Once the form is returned to the department and processed, the employer will be notified by e-mail that they have been awarded the incentive o Successful candidate must close their jobseeker claim
Jobs Plus Benefits of scheme o No limit to the amount of employees that can be taken on under the scheme o Easier system to access then Employer PRSI Incentive Scheme and Revenue Jobs Assist o Its all on line o Time a potential candidates has spent on JobBridge & WPP may count towards the eligibility criteria for Jobs Plus o Can obtain assistance from Intreo/Employment Services

Assistance to Jobseekers Part Time Job Incentive Scheme Allows certain long term unemployed to take up part time work and get a special weekly allowance instead of jobseekers ( 119) Must be under 24 hours and last at least two months
Assistance to Jobseekers Family Income Supplement A Weekly tax free payment for families at work on low pay Must work at least 19 hours a week Have at least one qualified child who normally lives with the employee or is part of a family supported by the employee Details on scheme can be obtained on www.welfare.ie
